Wemby says Revenge of the Sith is his favorite Star Wars movie of all time:
“When I say I like Star Wars, I don’t count the last three movies. My favorite is Revenge of the Sith, my second favorite would have to be Attack of the Clones, and then I’d say The Empire Strikes Back.”
(via @OldManAndThree)
@BlighttownNIMBY@Slashycent It’s also scoring points by tapping into attitudes of egalitatianism while ignoring that almost every Jedi’s parents have been nobodies.
@DarthGrando@JrHopeless I like how this “fix” makes the main character of the saga less impressive and less involved to the point of not even being there for the climax.
Great writing!
@UpToTASK@MrNiceGuy513 Doomsday could still very well gross as much as Project Hail Mary, Obsession, and Backrooms COMBINED.
The return on investment of viral low budget horror is incredible, but thinking they have ended mega blockbusters is just being completely ignorant of the raw numbers.
@ERCboxoffice Please stop the clickbait. These are two great successes which are very good for the industry but they are very much outlier cases.
A million low budget horror movies have come out to far less success.
Don’t pretend you didn’t say this when Spider-Man does very well this summer
@comicaccuracy MCU fans pretend to be super mad about Maria Hill dying after she got more meaty scenes and dialogue in one episode of Secret Invasion than she’d had in the eight years prior.
@comicaccuracy One of the strongest aspects of the first decade of the MCU was that they got things right and audiences were attached to *this* specific version.
Loki calling it “the Sacred Timeline” was such a flex.
Kind of hate the idea of the FF and X-Men never existing organically in it.
@comicaccuracy The internet parallel universe ignores facts such as critical reviews, box office, audience polling, and award nominations and wins.
What really matters is vibes and narratives, many of which originated from bigoted grifters.
@ChrisAlvino And even dumber is the entertainment media’s continual straight reporting of these skewed numbers because it makes for good clickbait.
@IMDb won’t take action against review bombing. It’s well past time for everyone to ignore IMDB.
@MrBrio171 People need to just stop reporting on IMDB numbers when they get this skewed.
When so many votes are 1/10 and Nazis are out in force complaining about Homelander going down like a loser, these numbers are meaningless.
This wasn’t even close to the weakest episode of the season.
@mightydudbolt Adult “fans” made a mountain out of a molehill while unintelligently complaining about the vague details of this non-issue.
Kids saw big strong group bullying a defenseless planet.
Which group was focused on what actually mattered? 😂
@mightydudbolt I was 14 when TPM came out, and I understood it enough based on elementary school lessons about the American Revolution starting over tax disputes.
The real point is that this big group was bullying a peaceful planet.
People overcomplicated this in their heads and played dumb.
@TatooineSons I’ve only ever paid attention to a few of Scott Menzel’s tweets but he’s rubbed me the wrong way.
Film criticism and journalism is a unique industry where you’re held to zero standards and no expectations to account for the actual facts and metrics.
@TatooineSons Got to love the smugness of what passes as film critique on the internet.
It’s a life or death fight occurring as part of a wider military battle.
Does this guy think it’s normal to volunteer secret information to the enemy in the middle of combat?
