@Frances_Coppola I notice no one - OP included - engages with my comments about Christian Zionism (& philosemitism). Strange considering her complaint that her adversaries don't criticise Kairos II theologically. Then she avoids theology too! Why this attempt on both sides to avoid debate?
@Frances_Coppola Philosemitism mixed with Christian Zionism. I've witnessed it running thru Anglican Communion my whole life. It does exist in other Churches but in case of C of E (& Communion) it influenced imperialist policy (& vice versa). C. Zionism needs to be ripped out to save Anglicanism.
@Frances_Coppola I struggle to see his primary loyalty (or any Chief Rabbi I can remember) to God or his faith. Whether one sees teaching belief in one God or encouraging correct action as his most important function it's impossible to square with the actual behaviour of these disgusting people
@PolitlcsUK Just wait and see the effect of economic stagnation combined with ever worsening inequality on longevity and morbidity before 2037 - policy and physical reality on the ground are heading in opposite directions and something will have to snap!
@WalkerMarcus The more of these type of comments I read from C of E clergy and lairy the more relieved I feel that I left the Anglican Community and confirmed in my view I become that institutionally it is corrupted to the core by Christian Zionism (amongst other non-Christian ideologies).
@mandybu23626477@TonyNotman49593@redrumlisa@LauraPidcock I welcome Laura's intervention but when are we going to see end of wc politics of 'authenticity'? Throughout this ep. - physical real vs mental/service fake labour, WC vs MC, privileging personal experience or claimed inheritance, sentimentality, nostalgia, nativist parochialism.
@obejctive_truth@pauleholden@andrewfeinstein@wesstreeting They're empty husks. They are the victory of the 'hollow men' in our civilisation- a combo of the strawman, tinman & lion: no heart, no soul, no brain of their own. Just empty lovers of power for its own sake & theirs.
@alon_mizrahi You're been reading my mind again. You have a highly astute & insightful understanding of the state of the political culture of the UK (even with I presume little direct experience of it). It is a wasteland & you're right very very few know it.
@OborneTweets I hope he is. But these ....ards usually know how to look after numero uno and prepare their strategy to protect themselves well in advance. They can always potentially fail of course and that is to be hoped.
@KostjaMarschke@recusant_pulse@ClarkeMicah Epitomises the dishonesty which is rife in Ukrainian political culture and - apparently- society at large. We have a huge problem with dishonesty in the EU & UK but if we are tied to Ukr much longer God help us!!!...
@ClarkeMicah Your speech & intervention were commendable but Russophobia & unthinking conservative instincts clearly run v. deep in Brit upper-UMC society! Confidence with which rightwing & neo-Nazi role in Ukr was dismissed is a disturbing indicator - for Rus-Ukr policy AND future dom. pols
@LHP_CEO@CraigMurrayOrg I think you're mistaken about how this former friend thinks. Doubt he believes his country is uniquely corrupt - or uniquely anything. Doubt in fact his thinking begins from a pre-established identity/ tribal position. This is the epistemic root of your group's error.
@joecguinan I feel it's a significant indicator of present political factionalism and currents in Labour Government (unfortunately) that this failed 'genius' is being interviewed by msm - despite his protestations of keeping out of politics for moment.
@joecguinan Most valued skillset in UK politics - virtually eclipsing others - is abt. appearing to know how to gain & maintain power in a perpetual short-term. However it's evidently self-contradictory as too narrow a mentality & skillset for governing successfully & achieving stability.
@AbouElLeil10452 It's a class and Western modernity orientation. That's why u feel u have more in common with these nationalities - & live in the West! Being Lebanese is 4u more incidental than integral to your identity. 4u it's more like a desirable piece of real estate you have some claim to.
@db_1960@PhilipProudfoot@spiralunbound The surprising feature of comments is overwhelming preponderance sympathetic to Starmer as allegedly a 'decent' person & politician. Left-wing X social media activists should look outside their bubbles at British people more often to understand *real* magnitude of the challenge!
@db_1960@PhilipProudfoot@spiralunbound I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance today. I would agree with you re public opinion - given polls & election results if nothing else, but - have a look at the vastly general tenor of readers comments on Starmer's announcement on the Guardian website - WTF!! Can anyone explain?
@harriepw Corbyn should be more modest imo because he may have built a huge mass party but he also betrayed them (& millions more) thru his strategic ineptitude and moral cowardice (or worse) in the face of the Zionist lobby. Anyone who forgets this to support him now needs their head read
@PhilipProudfoot And you can be sure that all those complimenting him and (once again) praising his 'decency' either overtly or tacitly agree with him on this issue - wherever else they may disagree. But for them this is the biggest issue. Be certain of that.
