DA has successfully recused South Africa from the breakers/doomsday coalition of corruption by joining the Government of National Unity.
GNU is our only hope in rebuilding South Africa because there is no other alternative, so this has to work. 🇿🇦🙏🏽
I pray that this GNU succeeds.
🇿🇦 The DA within the Government of National Unity has turned optimism into action, driving real progress for economic growth, jobs, and opportunities.
We look back at some key milestones and moments as the GNU will soon reach its first 100-day mark.

Today in a joint parliamentary committee National Treasury laid down a fundamental change in approach to local government.
It is moving from oversight to active structural intervention. Massive move and policy change.
More than half of municipalies are in financial distress.
It's enough. UIFW is rising. Levels of non-payment to service providers and bulk providers are escalating. Provision of basic services is being threatened by incompetence.
Withholding Equitable share is a corrective measure by the Finance Minister to halt financial deterioration.💪
Another successful clean up of public spaces at Lansdowne Station following successful court eviction proceedings brought by the @CityofCT
As always, we have ensured each homeless person living at this site has been offered much more dignified and caring alternative accommodation at one of our Safe Spaces. 🤍🤲
We will always act to protect public spaces for the public at large, while always showing care for the homeless.

This morning, alongside @UmngeniLocal@MayorPappas, I visited Howick Police Station to see the improvements completed by the Department of Public Works & Infrastructure.
The holding cells have been restored back to operational use after being closed since 2019.
The work included cleaning and repainted, while damaged roofs, lights, water pipes and flush systems have been repaired.
This means the police can focus on fighting crime instead of driving detainees to Pietermaritzburg which is an hour away.
This is a clear example of what can be done by the Department and what can be achieved when we deliver quality work that helps client departments better serve communities like uMngeni. #LetsBuildSA 💙🇿🇦

Zille unveils Blue Brigade in Joburg to drive service delivery.🛠🧰🚓
Helen Zille has taken her Joburg candidacy to the next level. 🚀 Launching a fleet of DA bakkies with volunteers to go out and assist the vulnerable wards in Joburg.
Unheard of in local politics. Zille has raised support to kit out a bunch of teams with equipment to be able to go out, fix and clean the problems that the ANC in Joburg has forgotten about.
It's a mass service delivery rollout to fill the holes that have been left by the city. Literally. Cutting grass, urban management, removing dumping, filling potholes you name it.
This is possibly the most aggressive political campaign seen in the country.

To my friends in Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Uganda, there's no coming back from this.
Leftover oil? 🚫 Don’t send it down the drain!
It cools, hardens and creates blockages that clog our sewers. Let it cool, put it in a container and bin it.
Keep Cape Town flowing.

Let me tell you exactly what happened in the Tshwane Council chamber on 9 July 2026🚨
Councillors voted not to suspend Johann Mettler. The Speaker deducted 13 votes and suspended him anyway.
Councillors voted to treat allegations against CFO Gareth Mnisi as serious misconduct. The Speaker deducted 13 votes and let him off lightly anyway.
The same number. 13. On both votes. Coincidence is not a word that applies here.
Today the DA took this to the Gauteng High Court on an urgent basis. Democracy was rigged in plain sight. We will not let it stand. ⚖️
