@BlackDragonCan Fate characters are pretty competent to begin with, but 80 hours of play is about four story arcs, or four Major milestones. The PCs would have gained about four points of refresh, and maybe eight increases to skills. Skill cap will have gone from Great (+4) to Legendary (+6).
@atensnut If the receiver of those funds knew the whole time, she's been committing fraud. I know that's not a big deal if you're running for president, but if you're common folk, they take it seriously.
@memeslich If I'm the GM, I get to play in the game. Everyone at the table is a player. Plus I get to play the villain! The juiciest, best part--ask any actor.
@memeslich Use SPERM. Quickly sketch the movers & shakers in the [S]ocial sphere ( tavern owner?), [P]olitics (Reeve, Elector, etc), [E]conomic (powerful guilds?), [R]eligious (local churches), and [M]ilitary (town guard, head of a garrison?). Thanks to @DailyDael, and you won't forget it.
@SerKatze @memeslich I try to stick with what works in stories. When a powerful politician tries to overthrow the government and is thwarted (often by the PCs, because it's a great story arc) they are generally tried and imprisoned, or worse.
So, you see, nothing like the real world.
@ItsUhSlayer@9mmsmg You can confirm that Aragorn was thinking eight moves ahead of Sauron? I mean, I believe you. Clearly being an aircraft mechanic makes one an expert on Tolkien, it's just obvious.
@Kat_Alysha I hope you gots some rest. Despite feeling drained (every time, even still) I'm usually too wound up to sleep for a while after. I recommend taking your notes for next game as soon as possible--I never remember the night before next game like I think I will.
@Br00TaLDaN The d12. It's the best and more systems should use it. It is rightfully the best die size in Cortex. It has functionality as a d2, d3, d4, d6 and d12--flexibility shown by no other die--the d20 might come close (d2, d10, d20), but d20s are only used in niche games.
@sdelcastillo@Br00TaLDaN Doublesix dice (@doublesix_Dice) has you covered. I have a couple sets of d4s, d6s and dF (Fate dice) from them and I consider them superior to my others in every measurable way, plus a couple immeasurable ones.
@ChaoticDrewtral@annethegnome Thank you for your helpful comment. The point would be to preserve player agency, because as OP posted, not having agency sucks. And yes, the bonus can be & should be significant. Tempting, even. I haven’t personally redesigned magic in 5e to satisfy a twitter thread—doable, tho
@annethegnome I’m a fan of how it’s handled in Apocalypse World: when something (a spell, persuasion by another PC, etc) wants the PC to act a certain way & the player goes along with it, they get a bonus. They aren’t mechanically penalized if they choose not to. Carrot rather than stick.
@PulseEngine@PunishedHoots I think we should be mad that the practice of 'crediting' a business -any- of a server's wage because they're tipped was allowed in the first place. You want employees, you pay them. Customers should not be required to supplement your payroll. Minimum wage (at least) for all.
@PulseEngine@PunishedHoots What I see fellow servers being mad about is that by setting the tipped minimum at a specific amount rather than "1/2 minimum wage," servers' salaries haven't increased when minimum wage goes up, because reading & fixing a whole law isn't sexy or sound-biteable. /2
