AFL statement on the “dangerous” bottle throwers from last night: “The AFL and MCC security will work with Vic Pol to identify the bottle throwers directed at the umpires last night. If identified they will be banned from games and the stadium for a minimum 5-years.
The passion for footy is unmatched in Australian sport, however what transpired last night by a number of individuals was dangerous and crossed the line.”

#VPL2 Royals and Bayside meet in the final. I’m hearing over 700 people attended Bayside which is a great advertisement for the great game. Royals overcame a stubborn Keilor to lose in a penalty shoot out. I think Royals get promoted.

It’s not the club that get punished but the hooligans that cause mayhem are rounded up by Victorian Police.

Police say they have already fined a 40-year-old man from Croydon $418, after identifying him as a bottle-thrower. He may now face bans from the AFL and MCG. Three other incidents are being investigated, including:

-two men allegedly punched after the game
-a man was allegedly pushed and struck his head on a wall
-two people told police they were assaulted and punched as they were leaving

In total 10 fans were evicted by police.

Seats? Player race?
