Current Situation: Interior pockets continued to actively burn and challenge containment lines. Significant winds and weather presented the potential for established spots to spread rapidly. Steep and rugged terrain created access challenges. Despite this, hard work on the ground in combination with persistent air attacks limited perimeter growth along the fire’s edge.

Fire Weather: Significant wind shifts occurred to the northwest early afternoon and to the south later in the afternoon/early evening. The potential for rapid fire growth with erratic fire behavior remains high.
Another round of hot and dry conditions combined with gusty winds will bring elevated critical fire weather conditions to the fire region this afternoon and evening. With higher mixing heights today (up to 14,000 feet this afternoon), there will be an increased risk of large plume dominated fire behavior.

Tomorrow’s Outlook: The current state of the weather and vegetation hold the potential for significant fire behavior and rapid fire growth. Crews on the ground and in the air will remain vigilant in their efforts to mitigate and contain this fire.

The #SummitFire (red, estimated perimeter), near Wrightwood and Big Pines Ski Area is running into the 2024 Bridge Fire (blue). It will likely not push very far into the burn scar. Wrightwood looks pretty safe.

Overnight, the Bridge Fire displayed moderate fire behavior under favorable conditions due to decreased winds and elevated humidity levels.

A few images from the #BridgeFire from the #Wrightwood area taken last night. The fire front barreled down on the small mountain community as it was driven by extreme temperatures and a strong on-shore wind. Numerous buildings were lost due to extreme fire behavior. Many landmarks of the area survived the firefight. The @LACOFD & @Angeles_NF & @SBCOUNTYFIRE along with @CAL_FIRE fought throughout the night.
