Rowing the Atlantic Ocean alone in an 8m boat, to raise awareness of the Commonwealth- the planet’s most diverse family with the potential to change 2.4bn lives
A Year Ago Today!
Miles Rowed - 3,500
Oars Broken - 3 of 4
Rowing Gear Broken - Lots
Boat Capsized and Lost - For a period of time
Thank you to all that not only helped make #CommonwealthRow possible and schools that took part but all Guyanese Officials for my arrival #Guyana🇬🇾
A Year Ago Today! Around 1730 GMT / #Freetown, we started the process of getting Tamu’kke into the water. With no gin-soaked #marina it took the kindness of locals heaving the trailer across the Freetown’s golden sands and starting #CommonwealthRow. #Thankyou#SierraLeone
Wow what an amazing afternoon! #CommonwealthRow
Congratulations to Richard Allen for his amazing achievement and thank you for visiting us at #All Saints CE Junior Academy
#ConnectingClassrooms 😊
School defies state law & allows 15 y old Mariatu Sesay to continue her education. ”If you’re in school, you’re there to learn. If you’re not, you’re just going to get married or get pregnant again.” #teenagepregnancy#lifttheban#sierraleone#HumanRights

#Thankyou again everyone @OfficialStepney for taking part in the #CommonwealthRow project. You’ve been a great example showing others around the world what can be achieved when people work together. #GreatQuestions
Today, Richard Allen @CommonwealthRow visited us and brought along his boat, Tamu'kke. He told us all about his solo rowing journey from Freetown to Guyana. The pupils and staff were very impressed as we had followed his journey earlier in the year 🌍
Our runway models certainly looked the part in their plastic outfits! This is part of our work on the Sustainable Development Goals as we promote responsible consumption and protecting our environment 🌍👍
So grateful to God for progress made in this first year, trusting Him for the rest of the #TransformFreetown journey! Huge thanks to @SawyerrKeith@_maheni Jordan @IngTrudyMorgan, my parents, sisters, family & friends. It is a privilege to serve my city.
The Mayor @yakisawyerr , councillors and staff of @FCC_Freetown on the ground-coordinating and monitoring proper garbage collection and disposal in #Freetown, during yesterday's National Cleaning Day.

The #TransformFreetown competition launched by @FCC_Freetown and @yakisawyerr is a brilliant one which fosters a sense of environmental pride in local communities. On Thursday, the winning zone will be announced! It was our pleasure to help make the prize possible #HullFreetown19
@searchr316@BBCPaulAdams I spent two weeks listening to the boats coordinating going to anchor, dropping and hauling nets. The authorities only have to sit there for a night with a #VHF radio and listen to #Ch16 to hear who is doing what. They are that brazen. Strangely most talk in English
MUST WATCH - For around two weeks, I personally witnessed this and listened to them on the radio coordinating as I tried doge them and safely get off the African continental shelf. A lot of rubbish and the odd dead dolphin also. @BBCPaulAdams#SierraLeone

@searchr316@BBCPaulAdams .@searchr316, yes I spoke to a lot of fishermen in #Freetown who struggled to make a living due to the lack of fish-stocks. As the video shows there seems to be little appetite to do anything. Also not surprised to learn that #SierraLeone only gets 10% income from #fishing rights
Typically, the most people ever ask, is for a little #help from time to time.
Guyana Foundation took me to meet an #Amerindian community at #Mashabo seeking just that, assistance with #education, #health and #business skills, as they looked to improve the lives of their community
