UGANET in the Field
📍Jinja District
This week, the UGANET team engaged communities in Busedde Sub-county, Jinja District, as part of ongoing efforts to promote access to justice and human rights awareness.
The team visited Busedde Health Centre III and later held a community sensitization session where the Jinja District Probation Officer explained the role of the Probation Office in safeguarding the welfare, protection, and safety of children.
Community members actively participated in the dialogue, raising several concerns affecting families. Among them was a request by some women for advocacy around equality in customary marriage practices, particularly regarding provisions on multiple spouses.
