@SundryTomatoes Though I’d follow that up by saying Oppenheimer was much better in addressing this. Think there was just more opportunity with Odyssey, but cant imagine the studios wanted a 6hr film!!
@SundryTomatoes Totally agree with this, and it’s my biggest gripe with Nolan films. Visually incredible and atmospherically brilliant, but lacking the depth and the challenge of the human element. Always find the characters to be pretty shallow.
@NUFCdiscussion Was at the match and he was definitely one of the better players, who always looked to play forward. As someone else mentioned though, he’ll need to get a bit stronger and more robust.
@AdamP1242 Totally agree. Has there been any signing that Howe has put straight in, other than when forced to due to injury/availability?
Jaouen is 20 years old coming from the second division in France. There is no way Howe puts his trust in him from the off.
@MsiDouglas It’s a good opportunity for the club to show how they can handle these situations too, as the whole ‘holding him against his will’ narrative played out with Isak, regardless of how true it was.
@kendallrowanx I love him, and really want him to turn it around, but I can’t get my head round his awful in game management. The substitutions are clear for all to see time and time again, and he doesn’t make them for some reason. I don’t think that changes with another season unfortunately.
@NUFCTalkRadio It’s bollocks though, isn’t it. If Tonali or Gordon say they want out at the end of August, and there’s a club looking to buy them, they’ll go. That’s the way it is. Club needs to not be naive and just get on with the window instead of briefing pointless ultimatums.
@manxpie86 Murphy was dreadful all game. Every choice he made was the wrong one, stray balls etc. Again, how he’s still first choice this long after the takeover, it’s very underwhelming.
@CraigHope_DM Craig, on the business front, is the club a little behind the curve? This is an obvious appointment from a business and financial capability standpoint, and I’m surprised it’s only being identified now. Is it the club, or football as a business, that’s a little less mature?
@CharIieBennett Don think there’s anything wrong with this from Tonali. He also had a sudden exit from his boyhood club that he loved, so I can imagine that has impacted his way of thinking too.
@howaythalad@MsiDouglas I’m surprised PIF and/or others haven’t gotten more creative with this stuff before. You see it more with American sports, through indirect sponsorship deals etc.
