One of the most influential Catholic NT scholars, Raymond E. Brown, notes that most scholars do not regard the Gospel authors as eyewitnesses of Jesus’ ministry. Instead, the evangelists used inherited Jesus traditions and shaped them to address the theological needs of their communities. As Brown puts it, “The Gospels are not literal records of the ministry of Jesus.”

The original tweet says “do they even exist?” which is a stronger claim.

I’ve read this entire thread including the Arabic quotations and I simply don’t think these are insults, they are strong proclamations of disagreement that you are free to investigate and then agree or disagree with them but you can’t strip the man of his right to voice a belief.
