@Andiders@23skiddsy@luvkorone I already replied to you an hour ago with proof my guy. Has nothing to do with the breed and everything to do with how genetics work. https://t.co/wZq1Vi88Wa
@23skiddsy@Andiders@luvkorone I mean fawn dogs don't generally have black spots like that. Closest would be something like saddle tan. I 100% agree about liver being an even worse match but in the answer to the question "what color is cartoon Scooby?" Is it's not a real color/pattern.
@The13thBird@pedigreepilled I'm firmly of the belief too that a proper temperament for a legit bull and terrier is the old "a real game dog never engages with a cur" If my dog isn't clear headed it isn't getting bred and it's never going to compete regularly either because I'm running a dog, not a kite.
@The13thBird@pedigreepilled No it's exactly how I feel too. Most real deal dogs aren't even hot in a reactive way and you can see the difference if you know what to look for. Reactivity also doesn't correlate with gameness except probably negatively so why is a dog that turns purple in the ring rewarded?
@The13thBird@pedigreepilled Yep. I enjoyed my time there but ultimately the undesirable elements pushed me back into AKC, UKC and independent weight pull orgs. Obviously with Staffords we weren't doing conformation except for fun classes but even those I felt encouraged more reactive behavior in my dogs.
@Andiders@luvkorone Liver dogs can't produce black pigment at all so Scooby CAN NOT be chocolate. Liver is a modifier of the B locus which interferes with the production of eumelanin. Here's a good explanation. There are NO chocolate dogs with black spots or black noses. https://t.co/wZq1Vi88Wa
@The13thBird@pedigreepilled Me too! I don't have APBTs, I have sporting Staffordshire Bull Terriers but we have a lot of APBT friends and have competed AADRI against them and won ๐! SBT history is way more hush hush and I don't have an in so I study APBT history to better understand the selection pressure.
@The13thBird@pedigreepilled Being in bull and terriers is such an exercise in cognitive dissonance. If you really love the breed, at the end of the day you have to thank the culture of dogmen that built and refined them into what they are.
@KhloeZoro@de_stuben@luvkorone He's actually less accurate to the character though. Scooby is a fawn dog with genetically impossible black spots that can easily be dyed on a real dog. They had to look harder to find a dog that *doesn't* match than just finding a fawn, which are everywhere from *good* breeders.
@pedigreepilled@The13thBird Most hack job crops are backyard breeders cheaping out, not dog fighters. If you go look at all the most famous fighting dogs, most were left natural. Not defending them, they're scum but its important not to make assumptions that regular people are doing horrible shit
@pedigreepilled@The13thBird They're not though. In real life dog fighters rarely crop but people who show their APBTs and American Staffordshire terriers do and a lot of pet owners too.
