I love and cherish the female gender and believe that they are not given a fair share in the scheme of things. If by 2023 with God on our side, I emerge the senator of Benue North East Senatorial district, I will project the women and youths as my priority.

That is the reason why my political ambition is centered on emancipating the women and youths. You are first in my constituency. I have made conscious efforts to draft a five point agenda which centers on Health, Infrastructure, education and empowerment.

In my professional career, Women like Dr Priscilla Achakpa, Dr Grace Adagba, Mnena Kogi, Helen Okpo, Eno Mag, Agu Chinelo, Aza Erdoo and Jovita Wanger who have stood firm to give me the needed support. Spiritually, I have been a devotee of St Rita of Cassia and the Virgin Mary.

When I graduated and could not have a reliable job, it was women like @womanoftreasur and Dooshima Akaa Baka who stood by me to ensured that I gained sustainable skills and had a platform to launch myself.

Unfortunately, our system, the system certain people have imposed on us, is not allowing your children and your husbands to manifest their potentials. Many have graduated without jobs, even those who are working, their salaries are not being paid as of when due.

This is what many of you women are going through to bring up your children. You are always sacrificing everything to make sure you have better children.

When School resumes and things are difficult (due to the fact that my father who was a primary school teacher was not always paid his salaries), She will carry my food items such garri and yams in a sack bag while I take the small school bag. We will trek 78km to school

Our mother taught us to be honest, hardworking and diligent. Between 1993 and 1995 she was critically ill and lost all her farm and business. But after that, she never gave up on her children. When I got admitted at St. Andrew’s Adikpo my mother displayed her care to the moon.

In 80s and 90s when she was in her prime, she was an industrious young woman who could engage in a lot of farm work and garri processing as business. In those days of her glory, she could leave Ajio for Abakpa to buy cassava and chatter pick-ups home for garri processing.

My dear mothers and sisters, I come to you today as a son, brother and husband. I have been with the women for a long time. My love for women is incurred from the way my mother raised me. Mbakulum Euphemia Iorsamber brought me and my siblings up through thick and thin.

Today 8th day of March 2022, marks the international women’s day. A day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate Women and look into the plights of womanhood globally. That is the reason why I chose this special day to address the Zone A women.
