@AvonandsomerRob As you use EVs more you also realise that not all EVs are equal. WLTP is useless - Tesla WLTP is 344 miles BUT Tesla uses EPA which is much more accurate at 272 miles. BUT, efficiency is king. The Model 3 does 5-6miles/kwh which means real world range of over 300 miles in summer
@ListerLawrence You don’t use an EV the same way that you use a petrol car. You don’t run it below 10% but you charge little and often just like a mobile phone. No range anxiety having owned Tesla’s for over 2 years. You change the way you refuel.
@graeme_cobb For me, the RWD is the jewel in the crown. I had a Dual Motor Long Range before this and I prefer the RWD for all round mix of performance and efficiency. Projected Range is now over 300 miles from a full charge
@AvonandsomerRob Different habits for an EV over ICE - charge every night for a few pence. For longer journeys, it’s more about your bladder capacity than range! You should stop every 2 hours (Highway Code)… an average of 120 miles. Have lunch and the battery is full for about £9 (Tesla)
Been testing the ‘FSD’ subscription in the UK which is basically EAP+ . Is it worth £99pm? For me, no. I was hoping I could use Summon to put the car in the garage but it won’t as it’s on a slope. Nav by Autosteer is very clunky. Sticking with Autopilot
I’m trialing FSD (lite) in the UK from today for a month. Until FSD (Supervised) is authorised, this is essentially EAP plus auto stop at traffic lights, which I’m happy with. Always thought EPA should have been standard and liked what it did but didn’t want to pay £3,400
