Confidence is increasing that snow will develop across the region beginning Friday evening, continuing into Saturday. Significant accumulations of snow are possible across much of the area, with impacts to travel being the primary concern.

📢#ConcordNC! Now is the time to make final preparations for this weekend's forecasted winter weather. Continue to monitor trusted resources, such as @NWSGSP. Power outages and hazardous travel conditions are expected. Visit https://t.co/RgKZwRsZvf for preparedness tips!
🧊Ice covered roadways will become treacherous and impassable. Widespread power outages are likely due to the weight of the ice on tree limbs and power lines. The outages could last for days in some areas. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.
As freezing rain is becoming likely with this storm, travel is going to be quite hazardous. We could also see more widespread power outages if we get over 1/4" of ice to accumulate on trees and power lines.
Makes preps for the possibility of being without power.
Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 7 AM Saturday through 1 PM Monday.
Hazardous travel and widespread power outages are possible with this storm. Power outages could last for multiple days.
Now is the time to prepare! #ncwx#scwx#gawx
Make sure to have emergency supplies in your vehicle BEFORE a winter storm arrives, and that your mobile phone is fully charged -- it could become your lifeline if disaster should strike.
