Q1: Online identity to me is the persona you create online to represent who you are and what you stand for in an online community. An example would be this Twitter page I have made for class. #2000Chat
@ConnallyGabby Gabby - great point! Often times you don't know someone is mocking you or imitating you until it's far too late. A scary thought for sure!
@ouredit2000 This quote is very interesting and stands out to me because I never thought of it like this. This gives me a whole new perspective about creating/managing future passwords. #2000Chat
Q2: I don't really know if I take any precautions to avoid identity theft. I know that isn't good, but I never really think about it too much. I would love some tips to help though #2000Chat
@ConnallyGabby Usually it starts with not submitting important info online, especially to less trustworthy websites. I'll admit that this is becoming harder to do, e.g., I need to submit my credit card info for online purchases, but e-commerce sites can totally leak my info #2000Chat
@sophieuga I think that is a very beneficial skill to have and it also super cool. I don't know how to code, but if I ever had time I would love to learn how to do it because I think that it could help me in a multitude of ways #2000Chat
@wenbolfe I can second this. With all the social media at tips of our fingers, it is very hard for myself to focus on the task at hand sometimes too #2000Chat
A3: The one thing that I struggle a lot with technology is working with programs/apps that I am unfamiliar with. If I can't figure it out I eventually just stop trying. #2000Chat
A4: I think that it is still essential that students learn about technology because there may be students who are not equipped with certain tech savvy skills. This can ensure that everyone is being taught the same things when it comes to technology #2000Chat
Q4: Many people say there’s no need to teach students about technology anymore because they’re growing up in the technology environment and they’re all tech-savvy. What do you think? #2000Chat
@ouredit2000 It has its pros and cons. Everything that you put online stays online forever, but at the same time information is easily and readily available to us #edchat2000
