Just a girl from Edo State 👧🏾❤️ wishing all my girlies a Happy International Girl Child Day!

Yesterday, Gold Lilies Production in collaboration with my office premiered their film OSAMEDE, a story about young orphaned girl in the 1897 Benin Kingdom who embraced her destiny and rose as the hero her people needed against colonial forces. This is a reminder to all the girls out there that we are super heroes and can do anything we put our mind to. Especially in Edo State, culturally our women have been known to be warriors and protectors, so we’ve been destined for greatness!

Today, I swore in a new team of Commissioners and Head of Agencies — a defining step in our collective journey to rebuild and reposition Edo State for sustainable growth and real development.

This moment is not just about appointments; it is about service, sacrifice, and responsibility. Each of these men and women were “carefully screened and confirmed purely on merit,” not as a reward or form of patronage, but as “a call to serve the people of Edo State.”

Since assuming office, I have emphasized that our administration stands for Practical Governance; one focused on service delivery and tangible results that can be felt in every community across our state.
Today’s inauguration reinforces that commitment.

As I told the new Commissioners, “Your appointment is not for money-making, but for service, for sacrifice, and for a better life for Edo people.” We have zero tolerance for corruption, and every action must reflect discipline, teamwork, and loyalty to the people.

I am sure that with this renewed team spirit, we will deepen the gains of governance and deliver on the promises that define our SHINE Agenda. History will indeed judge us — not by our intentions, but by the visible impact we make on the lives of our people.

Together, we will continue to prove that government can work for the people, and that A New Edo Has Risen.
