A change in air mass has helped shut off the recent heavy rain. A few lingering showers remain but dry conditions are expected into Wednesday. Despite this, lingering high water issues can continue in the hardest hit areas. High water will slowly recede over the coming hours.

There's a new rivalry game in WPIAL football.

Southmoreland and Connellsville will play the inaugural "Battle of 119" on Aug. 28 (Week Zero) at Connellsville.

Coaches hope the game has staying power and becomes an annual event.

Uniontown and Brownsville helped to build our region.

The National Road linked east to west through these communities and improved a young nation.

Uniontown was once one of the great banking centers in Appalachia and had the most millionaires per capita in our country outside of Colorado Springs.

Brownsville was a transportation hub where road, rail, and river met. One of the great steamboat building centers in our nation, Brownsville placed Fayette County in the heart of the Transportation Revolution.

Of course, you can’t mention Uniontown and Brownsville without the National Road — the first federally built road in the country.

And now the National Road Rumble is upon us again.

Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus, enters its final academic year later this month.

With roots dating back to 1965, Fayette has a long and vibrant history in the Fayette County community.

During the 2026/2027 year, Fayette will offer three athletic programs – women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, and men’s baseball.

The Fayette Athletics Network (FAN) will continue to broadcast events for our families and community to join in the successes that our student-athletes enjoy on the court and on the field.

The network is currently pursuing sponsorships for 2026/2027 – and we sincerely thank those businesses that supported us in the past.

New sponsorships will cover the entirety of the three upcoming 2026/2027 seasons.

Proceeds from these sponsorships will be directed toward the experiences of our student-athletes — meals, accommodations, and game day events and services.
