Welcoming slugs to the 2026 party, a nice indication of the presence of decent moisture. Having a fair crack in lentils. Paddock was smashed in 2023 after a wet 2022 across non traditional areas. Damage isolated to more traditional areas at this stage. @PestFactsSARDI
A nice morning putting out IBS treatments for ARG control. Having a look at splits and mixtures to assess bang for buck. Hopefully get back to do the PSPE treatments before the big wet 🤞Propyzamide, Ultro, Terrain Flow and Sakura all in the mix.
Yellow Header > PCT > Ops Centre > VR MAP down the tube. Good fert history and soils allow it to be done confidently. A reallocation across the block resulting in about 1500kg of fert left in the truck compared to a blanket application🤞now for the true break to come!

@CraigDavis_Agro Makes complete sense. Curious as to whether the dry season last year has upset dormancy/changed the spore germination/resulted in a larger flush this year. Similar to a few weeds from observations
Sclerotinia rearing its head in Defender CT. We aren’t a massive sclero area historically. Two dry years and dry springs yet here we are. This was early canola on a lentil stubble, wondering if flowering in a below average August was enough to stimulate. Pdk was canola in 22 🤔
@Eckfarming Generally a 3-4 year rotation, I am wondering if there was significant build up in 22 which we did see sclero (can’t recall in this paddock). Just seems odd it’s shown up with the rainfall and weather patterns we have had in the last 2-3 months….
Early samira’s which were fortunate to get out the ground end of April. Distinct protection line from Miravis Star applied at canopy closure mid/late August. Newest growth now infected with choccy spot despite dry a September. Canopy clean otherwise. Somewhat eye opening….
Avoca L vs Calibre R. Looking at longer AH types in colder environments to try spread the risk. Early boots split in Calibre, early flags unfurling in Avoca. Genie/Rockstar also in the paddock. Appreciate growers willing to have a look @davemernowie@agtbreeding@KosterBradley
@markede05626239 The optimist in me hopes for a few more shots at it. But there are plants that have got through this one unfortunately…. Wishful thinking!
Taking a step back in time today. Long term pasture with minimal chemical use, now set up for continuous cropping. Achieving excellent activity on ryegrass with Intervix. The question is how to prolong the activity for years to come…..
AGT Bunyip IA looking flash after 40mm rain in the back end of August. Won’t be long for a head to start poking. It looks like we may have got some ryegrass suppression with the Aggressor application which is pleasing! @agtbreeding@NickWellsSmith1
Galaxy, LVE and Brom (+fungicide) doing a handy job on group 2 resistant radish, the third crop on a new block. Extremely happy with crop safety. Will get a 2,4D mop up in the near future for new germinations. @DavKee43
AGTB0530 CL/AX barley, set for malt evaluation with Coopers. Not my favourite plant type for our area/the stacked system won’t have a massive fit for us, but interesting to have a play around. We will worry about killing the volunteers next year 😅 @agtbreeding@NickWellsSmith1
Uncomfortable and unexpected levels of early NFNB in late sown Leabrook. Two paddocks with the same history, ones getting smashed (areas worse than the photo), the others are untouched. In general there has been more NFNB floating around then I would have anticipated.
Cabbage is King. Very fortunate to get some canola away after isolated Easter Storms. Defender CT vs PY421C. Both looking fantastic and ready to soak up the sunshine. @CaptainCanola
