We had a great ride in spite of the cold in honor of Austin this morning! Thanks to everyone who joined us on the ride, those that help advocate for #SafeStreets, and everyone across the world observing #WDoR2022#VisionZero#Pittsburgh
This year’s Austin Fike Memorial Ride will be Sunday November 20 at 9AM, rain or shine, starting at Austin’s memorial at Pioneer Ave and Brookline Blvd. Hope to see you there! #LiveLikeAustin#LLA#WDoR2022#SafeStreetsSaveLives https://t.co/wkWfCCulSa
@PolyglotNoah Thank you! I got hit over a year ago and was fine except for scrapes bruises and a bent crank, but was very, very fortunate when others were not. No one should have to hope to be lucky to get home safely.
I was hit by a car while riding my bike a few blocks down Pioneer from here. A small crowd gathered in this exact spot a few weeks ago for the Austin Fike Memorial Ride. Seeing this (again) makes me incredibly anxious.
This is what Brookline Blvd and Pioneer Ave looks like right now. Hopefully no one was hurt.
We’ve advocated for @Pittsburgh and @PghDOMI to make traffic calming improvements here going on three years now, ever since Austin Fike was killed across the street from this incident.
Third parties rely on active participation! #GreenParty fans in #Pittsburgh should join us tonight to plan for the new year!

Happening now: UPMC hospital workers announce they are going on strike on November 18th to demand $20/hour, safer staffing, and the right to form their union without interference. #Strikesgiving
While people are still talking about elections, I want to repeat something I’ve said a few times in Green spaces: If you’re thinking about running, consider me a resource. EVERYTHING we learned this year we can share with people who want to fight for a brighter future
THANK YOU to everyone who voted this election. The result isn’t what we hoped for, but the energy at the polls (and throughout the campaign) was INCREDIBLE. People want to be heard and know that someone is advocating for them. So glad I could for a short time as a candidate
The momentum we built on this campaign will continue through organizing with @AlleghenyGreens. So proud to be a member of this org and can’t wait to see what’s next 🌻
Happy Election Day!
My deepest thanks to everyone who volunteered their time, skills, or money to this cause.
Whatever happens, know 1 thing: we aren't going anywhere. We'll organize neighbors & build community power so that city govt has no choice but to start listening.
Tomorrow’s result will be 100% people power - No super PACs, no developers, no sports teams, no utility companies, no frackers, no union busters or healthcare companies. Just us. And we demand better from Pittsburgh City Council #GetThereTogether#GreenWave
Tomorrow we’ll see what months of grassroots organizing can do. And we’re just getting started. Help us make Pittsburgh safer, greener and more affordable for all of our neighbors and vote! If you don’t know where your polling place is, find it here: https://t.co/1SL53sdqVn
