@Tom_Talks_Money@WealthLesson Yeah and to be honest I have "buffers" in there like state pension, a couple of rentals and whatnot, so it's prob less than that now and will be in the future.
Not to mention that anything I could reduce that or more likely go on more holidays.
“Why You’ll never be able to Retire”
I’ve just finished watching this video by @Connorfoundered on YouTube.
It’s a great breakdown on the difficulties that will be faced by many.
But it filled me with optimism!
Here’s Why:
Connor goes in depth on why the 4% withdrawal rate that is touted online is flawed.
I won’t go into it here (go give him his views)
But he’s entirely right.
4% is based on set circumstances and asset allocations.
So why am I hopeful?
Well, the actual safe figure is conservatively 2.5%.
I spend $2,000/m to run every single aspect of my life.
By retirement, $450/m will be removed as I won’t have a mortgage.
This figure also includes my partners $320/m car payment.
I could take $9,000/yr off my run rate.
But instead, to account for increasing bills, I’m adding $4,000/yr to my calculation.
At a 2.5% portfolio withdrawal rate, I need a portfolio of:
$1,120,000…
Does that seem a lot to you?
Because for me, with a lot saved already, and only plans to up my income
That seems a tiny figure.
I could envision hitting it in 5 years.
But I’m aiming higher.
I don’t want a scrimp and save retirement.
The goal is a $5,000,000 portfolio.
Which I still don’t see as ridiculous.
But at 2.5% that would generate $125,000/yr income.
Passively.
At 4%….$200,000.
What are your retirement goals?
Does that figure seem unobtainable or are you energised like me?
According to Hubbub 22.2 million pumpkins will go to waste, left uneaten. That's nearly £33 million of food wasted.
Most people simply throw award the guts after carving? Do you? Or do you have eerie-sistable pumpkin recipes? Let me know below.

Do you automatically think the person who has a luxury car, big house or designer clothes is rich?
Material possessions are never the best indicator of wealth. How many people do you know that are going broke trying to look rich? I bet it’s more than you think.
2 days to my first FREE investing webinar for beginners. Been working on this for nearly a month and I'm super happy with it.
Should be a great night with a bit of craic thrown in for good measure.
