Across our Borough, Conservative Councillors are hard at work – and we're getting results for our residents

This week Hounslow Labour lost its majority after a cllr was arrested and another failed to declare a directorship
Now, we need an emergency meeting because of their botched attempt to change our constitution
For the sake of our borough, this tired administration needs to go
As DCP for @CBIConservative Chiswick, I’m immensely proud of the focused and timely campaign we delivered. More than 550 signatures in just three weeks is a clear reflection of the strength of feeling in our community.
Credit to @linden_grigg for leading this campaign 💙
Area forums are always short on time – and residents often don't get a chance to question cllrs
Why then is a "vote of thanks" for a former Labour cllr who abandoned her ward and fled to a safer one (and still lost) on the agenda for Monday's Brentford and Syon forum?
🎥 WATCH: Hounslow Conservative Group Leader @Jack_Emsley1, and Councillor for Chiswick Riverside @GabriellaSGG dismantle Hounslow Labour's anti democratic farce at tonight's Borough Council meeting
@RonnieMushiso on Hounslow Labour's letter to the Prime Minister
"When you write that letter to Andy Burnham, ask him not to look back in anger to the 1980s – though I know he likes Oasis – tell him to move forward"
🗣️We have spent a huge amount of time in this chamber discussing the need to write a letter"
"The thing I struggle with is devolution just means additional taxation"

🗣️ @linden_grigg
"I speak for those who have the greatest need in our Borough, those who we have a duty to protect.'
"They have been let down by our Labour mayor, and this Labour council's failure to build houses in this city. Under Sadiq Khan, London has seen private rents soar to record levels, and we build social housing for people who can't afford it."
🗣️ @Jack_Emsley1
"Labour have talked about the work that Sadiq Khan is doing to improve housebuilding.
He has done so much work that housebuilding is at the lowest level ever in this city – I'd be quite embarrassed to put that in my amendment."
🗣️@JoannaBiddolph on Hounslow Labour's record of failure on housing
"Covering up the facts with false comparisons is a form of cheating. I know I'm not the only councillor with social housing tenants in disgracefully overcrowded homes"
🗣️Cllr Satwant Kaur seconds our motion tonight which also includes an amnesty for residents living fraudulently in council properties, provided they hand homes back
"If we can help someone vulnerable move from a three or four bedroom property, into a more suitable home – that large property can then become a family home for someone living in overcrowded conditions"
🗣️ Cllr Sampath Mudaliar on tonight's Conservative motion which includes measures incentivise council tenants living in properties with spare bedrooms to downsize, using grants – a common sense policy, tried and tested elsewhere in London

The Green Party's Cllr Rick Rowe votes with Labour just now at Hounslow Borough Council
Vote Green, get Labour – only the Conservatives are providing true opposition in Hounslow
"Accountability and compassion must work together – we owe that to the young people who need our help, and we also owe to victims that deserve to feel safe in their own community"
🗣️Cllr Satwant Kaur
"There is quite sobering data in this report"
"It does concern me that we have had a plan for two years, we have to be careful about those that are slipping through the gaps"
@GabriellaSGG on tonight's annual update on the Hounslow Youth Justice Plan
Hounslow Conservative Cllrs have presented 3 petitions from residents at tonight's Borough Council –
Cllr Parinoor Kaur presents a petition calling for The Crossways in Heston Central to be resurfaced
Cllr Linden Grigg presents a petition from residents asking that Weltje Road be kept open
Cllr Sampath presents a petition calling for a Controlled Parking Zone on Chrislea Close to be reconsidered
I've started a petition calling for Weltje Road to stay open to drivers from #Chiswick.
If it closes up to 2,500 vehicles a day could be re-routed onto Chiswick Lane and another convenient through-road will be lost.

Chiswick is special and we think it should stay that way.
Outdated and ugly telephone booths are a blight on our streets.
We're supporting @createstreets Banish the Box Blight campaign, here in Chiswick, to remove ugly phone boxes and clean up our high streets.
@Jack_Emsley1
We were warned. Labour fundamentally misunderstands the Laffer Curve and basic economics. Prosperity isn’t created by an ever-expanding state. Government’s job is to create the conditions for businesses to invest, innovate and grow - not to crowd them out.
