Join us every Wednesday at 8pm to connect with fellow conservatives and engage in thoughtful discussions on values, principles, and policy. #ConservativeHour
Welcome to #ConservativeHour.
First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with Henry Nowak’s family. His tragic murder has raised important questions about UK policing.
We start by asking:
What has surprised you most about the police response and the public reaction since?
My family and I are truly grateful we have a leader in parliament who reads the room.
A calm, measured message with dignity and respect for Harry's family.
#ConservativeHour
What has shocked me most?
Political rhetoric, MPs attacking MPs. Reform hijacking grief whilst simultaneously sidelining Henry's murder and his father's specific request.
#ConservativeHour
Our prayers are dedicated to Henry's family, friends and university football team.
Henry's dad displayed extraordinary grace and dignity in his statement.
Thanks everyone for joining. Excellent posts and great suggestions. Let’s continue supporting Kemi and the team to work through these difficult and complex issues. Goodnight!

@ConserveHour Thanks everyone, some excellent points and ideas tonight.
I think we are all shocked.
As is the whole country.
Goodnight & god bless.
@ConserveHour@apple_shwn@RajSinghTory Policing by public consent is crucial. We need to see law and order applied equally.
Keep saying it:
Be brilliant at the basics.
@ConserveHour@PuzzleLeak It's not about interfering with policing but we should be able to have a neutral Framework and if a police commissioner or chief constable is misbehaving, incompetent heads should roll
🚨 NEW: A number of officers in Hampshire Police, responsible for the arrest of Henry Nowak, said they felt "controlled and pressured to feel certain ways" after receiving mandatory DEI training

@ConserveHour A national change project, not tinkering.
Managed by professional change managers.
I believe @KemiBadenoch is the only leader that can do this.
@ConserveHour We do need to do this, and do it quickly.
But not too quickly.
It needs to be done at the right speed, involving the right stakeholders, with the right funding.
Oh, and while still running the old system.
It would need to be multi phased with the consent & buy in of the public.
@ConserveHour these areas and more.
The whole system needs to be rebuilt with a real foundation.
It’s like a software system that’s be tinked with by dozens of developers over many years and because inefficient and ineffective. And needs a rewrite.
It’s the only way.
@ConserveHour Drugs & alcohol crime, burglary, major theft, shoplifting, domestic violence, sexual assaults of many types, funds, knives, murder, missing people, general assaults, dealing with mental health incidents in the community … the list is endless.
And the system is failing in all👇
@ConserveHour Widening this discussion a little, and thinking about the peel principles I posted, we should also accept that although rightly we have talked a lot about Henry Nowak and what happened, the police have to deal with so much. 👇
