This is a profoundly unhelpful way to think, to discuss, or to govern. Classification should follow the examination of an idea, not replace it. Does the proposal address a real problem? Is it likely to work? Those questions ought to come first.

The target audience is encouraged to classify and discard the idea before examining it. The result is a politics of bundled allegiance. Your position on one issue is expected to determine your position on just about everything else. Anything else is ideological confusion.

@CultureExploreX I'd love to see Mel Gibson direct another epic, but history is hardly short of great stories still waiting to be put to screen. Give him the Anabasis or Belisarius rather than demanding a remake of a movie that just came out and to my mind, turned out rather well.

@RobertGreene This mistakes severity for insight. A person can lack direction for many reasons, including deception, trauma, bad guidance or inexperience. Agency matters, but ‘having only yourself to blame’ appears stripped of proportion and compassion.

@karpathy This is more or less my default workflow lol. thinking aloud at them: a long, untidy ramble goes in, and a clearer structure comes back. Give it enough of the tangle and it can usually hand back some of the thread.
