Palestinians are being starved in Gaza.
Over two months and counting.
Israel is being led by a man who has just agreed a plan to “annex” Gaza, a plan to ethnically cleanse a population, a man wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes.
And yet the world just watches and waits as trucks full of food rot yards from hundreds of people starving to death.
Never again say never again.
And never let any political leader pretend they didn’t know.
Successive governments didn’t stop supplying arms to Israel, we didn’t sanction, we didn’t even find the language to clearly and forcefully condemn and call this out.
This is on our watch.
We knew and we allowed it to happen.

1,060 healthcare workers have been killed in the past 18 months.

These are war crimes. How many more must occur for our government to end arms sales and sanction Israel?

The “two state solution” only exists in British politics as a crutch to avoid answering questions about Israel’s war crimes and UK complicity.

The challenge for political broadcasting is enormous, and rather satisfying to watch. After years of personality-driven and chaotic, shallow politics coverage across much of the media, which was largely about instability, gossip and leadership crises we now have a govt with massive majority, widespread internal agreement and no likelihood of massive instability anytime soon. A great environment for a programme like #c4news full of policy nerds and people who prefer to argue about what ideas work than who should be the front person.

It seems to me that the portrayal of the Labour win as shallow because of the vote share is misleading. This was a ‘get the tories out’ election. For different people that generally meant voting Labour, Lib Dem, Green or Reform. But in doing so they all knew they’d get a Labour government and did it deliberately. In reality even Reform voters actually voted for Keir Starmer to be PM.

Natalie Elphicke was suspended from the House of Commons for trying to improperly influence the judge in her now ex-husband's sexual assault case. She was welcomed with open arms onto the Labour benches.

Neil Coyle made racially disparaging comments to a journalist of colour, and had a complaint of sexual harassment upheld against him. His apology was accepted, and he was welcomed back into the Labour Party.

Barry Sheerman, a pro-Starmer MP, joked how there'd been a "run on silver shekels" when two Jewish businessmen missed out on peerages. He apologised, and there was no further action.

After doing everything that was asked of her, and apologising, Diane Abbott has been ritually humiliated under Keir Starmer's leadership of the Labour Party. The UK's first black, female MP has been left hanging by the party she has served for decades, and clearly held to a different standard than her white parliamentary colleagues.

Would you trust the Labour Party on handling racism fairly while in government? I certainly wouldn't.

It would be used as key evidence that Putin is one of the great monsters of our age.
