@AntekZalewski_@khazerian According to HRW and other third party organisations, Armenia caused more civilian death in First Karabakh War, same thing happened with the Second Karabakh though it was pretty close.
And also, reintegration site for to be Azeri citizenship is not shut down.
@ATHEIST_KHARDAR It has been like 200 years, Caucasian Azeris have their own state now and I think they have developed a different fate even different than Iranian Azeris.
It is better to let go and maintain mutual respect.
Ethnic Azeris do have some Turkic admixture that distinguish them from other ethnic groups around them.
Turkic doesn’t mean it has to be 100% Ancient Northeast Asian. Most ethnogeneses are like this.
Just like Talysh doesn’t have to be 100% WSH to be counted as Indo-Euro.
@ATHEIST_KHARDAR The thing is, Azerbaijanis are Turkic. I get the fact that Azerbaijanis in Iran can relate more to being Iranian but they have civic relations to Iran that’s why. As soon as they are not Iranian, they can’t relate to being Iranian. You either have to be ethnically or civically.
@Serdar04031837 Genetic closeness is not relevant to admixture I am talking about, and what the hell is a Kurdish origin. Kurds and Azeris can be close, and they are, but Azeris have more genetic closeness among each others, wherever they are from. This is the reflection of their ethnogenesis.
@SmithVarta21845 They have, but it is not as spread on average as in Azeris, an ethnic Azerbaijani from southern parts can come up more close to an ethnic Azerbaijani from Eastern Turkey than he is close to neighbour Talysh person. Like, on average they are a little bit different.
@Anonymous123924@goylander Not to mention that, unlike other various, small Neo-pagan movements in Europe and MENA that larp Pre-Abrahamic beliefs, Zoroastrianism is still pretty much institutional, serious religion with parliamentary representation.
I am not Zoroastrian, though. Don’t want to be.
@Leamsezadah@BehdinEran I did not know how Udis and Azeris could be this close. Kurds are consistently way closer to Azeris, than Talysh are to Azeris. I also did not expect that.
and no fucking way, Talysh is not on the list of Ardabili Azeri. I need to look into that.
@BehdinEran I mean, if you are gonna like it, I can tell that Babak, Nezami and Mahsati Ganjavi, Nowruz, Kheqani Shirvani are all celebrated as our own. Though the reasoning for it is different.
But neither Iranic Azeri nor Turkic Azeri are inherently native.
@SogdiMoschino@amir_harati I mean true, even Medival Turkic ancestry varies from region to region in Turkey. It is even more fascinating that, some Iranians managed to maintain this much steppe ancestry despite their admixture happening way before
But averagely, the situation it is more or less like this
