What are you reading?
Let’s share our treasures. I’ll go:
I am coming to the end of Iain McGilchrist’s two-volume masterpiece: The Matter With Things. (the grief of ending.) Lining up next: A Metaphoric Mind: Selected Writings of Joseph Couture.

Listening to my young child begin to speak has been astonishing, and it makes me think about the ways (with others, with himself) he'll use that smallest, vastest of words, "love."
(The question whether the muscles of the larynx are innervated in connexion with internal speech, and similar things, may be of great interest, but not in our investigation.)

Amazing book: the struggle to speak - how women lose, use, understand and strengthen their voice, our voice, , seen (and heard) through the memoir of legendary voice coach Patsy Rodenburg
