#CareConvos Convos about care for those who have experience of the care system and our allies, everyone welcome -on hiatus, back soon, DM ideas for what's next!
..which I don't think many professionals can provide, certainly not to all YP & over a 40 year career, and loving a child shouldn't be part of a job description (right?) Whereas showing respect, negotiating rules etc. can & should be. I just want to drill this down a bit, y'know?
Hey! It's been a while since I've posted & pretty soon I'll be figuring out what to do with this space. For now, I wonder if you'd be up for a quick #CareConvos about 'love' ❤️- i keep hearing lots of narrative about the need for more love in the system, what is meant by this?
Thanks everyone for commenting so far, I'm going to work through and give it all some thought. Hope it's been useful for you too! I've been noticing the narrative for a while and worrying about social care getting love as action e.g. safety, trust, mixed up with familial love 1/2
We love that months after its launch we're still getting so many emails about our research report on relationships 🫂🤝 if you haven't read it yet, it's a short read and you can find it here! #CEP https://t.co/W7VywZeZwq
Looking forward to #CEPHistoryMonth in April - we've got a few things to share with you, and can't wait to see what everyone else puts out into the world this year 💪
Ace to reflect on narrative & agency, ongoing consent, and culture & resourcing across the intersections of engagement, arts and research. Loving merging my worlds with the support of @IpsosMORI and @EsmeeFairbairn with the influence of gems like @wearebluecabin and @PhotoVoice
I think the hardest thing about telling your own story - especially if it's in the public domain - is that it's someone else's story too. Yes, let's write our own narratives. But what do you do when you can't collaborate on your shared stories? #CEP#livedexperience#socialcare
In the run up to the holidays we've been reflecting on the findings from our final piece of research. This one was particularly challenging to deliver, but also gave us the space to reflect on some of hardest aspects of being care experienced. Report drops on Wednesday! #CEP
And here it is! Thank you🙏 to everyone who contributed to our #CEP-led💪 'guide to housing for care leavers looking for their first home'🏡 in #NCLW21 💕the finished product is now ready to share (!!) with care leavers & professionals who support them👉https://t.co/VDpxMq5ssw
Been busy getting everything finished before our project officially ends! Couple of things dropping next week 🥳 meantime we're reflecting on how awesome it was to have such a great response at #culturecares ❤ big up to @samporter2016 and @lucyjamesmusic_ for representing us💪🥰
We know #NCLW is a noisy time of year- so if you could find just 5 minutes to add something to our guide to housing for care leavers, or tell us what you'd tell an 18yo just starting out about their first home by tweeting us with #whatiknownow we'd love that so much! ❤ #CEP#DIY
"Being care experienced puts you at the tip of an iceberg, the bulk of which is family trauma that isn't spoken about. Until we deal with that as a society/get comfy talking about generational trauma, the stigma of #CEP is unlikely to be resolved." #stigma@reviewCSC @Become1992
And here's the second blog I've written as my contribution to #NCLW21 - this one is all about putting it into practice at @IpsosMORI, working with #CEP to improve an evaluation about Creative Life Story Work #coproduction#NothingAboutUsWithoutUs

One of two blogs I'm putting out into the world in light of #NCLW21 and the ever-trying times of the national care review. Hope it gives a few more people a sense of what's going on in the world of foster care #CEP https://t.co/NUjvE6DT9n
Just to to a quick sense- how many people here are doing peer research in some way? How's it working, like who with and on what? How's it going? What would help you with it? #CEP#DIY
Exceptional work done by a collective of #CEP around changing policy PLUS proper engagement. What self enfranchisement really means.
Very proud @clohesion all her hard work.
And here it is! The first of three research reports- this one on involving #CEP in policymaking. Let us know what you think - does this resonate? What can be done about our recommendations? 🧐👏🥳📣 shout out to @limecartwrong who led on this work! 💪
