JUST IN - The Pietermaritzburg High Court has set aside a verdict by the apartheid government which stated that Chief Albert Luthuli's death in 1967 was due to a train accident.

In a judgment handed down today, the Court ruled Chief Luthuli died by assault.

"The death of Luthuli is attributable to cumulative acts and omissions by apartheid security branch officers and members of the railway company," Judge Nompumelelo Hadebe ruled.
