Have you ever heard of companion planting? The Native Americans planted “Three Sisters”. Three plants that when planted together benefit and support each other! @WPSCoolidge
Such pretty #daffodil + #hyacinth Kids did a great job pairing these friendly flowers right next to each other. Wish we could all be together to see them! Good news-these will come up for many years to come. See you again next spring pretty flowers! @wpscoolidge@ericamorson
We miss you Coolidge! Tomorrow looks like it will be a beautiful day for nature exploring! See if you can find faces in nature! We found Bob Moss on a hike. @WPSCoolidge@ericamorson
During this time that you are stuck at home you can use this app to identify the birds singing in your back yard. So cool! Mrs. Jalil discovered this one. Check out Song Sleuth and enjoy the musical entertainment provided by nature. @WPSCoolidge https://t.co/NHjVmO8f1p
Are you smarter than a 3rd grader? Come test your math skills tonight during Open House with math questions in the garden! @DCEtrailblazers @OutTeachEd
Today 2nd graders @FrostwoodElem went on a scavenger hunt/investigation walk to see if they could match colors from around their garden with a recycled egg carton ♻️❤️ #ReduceReuseRecycle@penningt1@SBISD
The common dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) provides a good nectar source for pollinators and a caterpillar food source. Its flowers open in the sun, closing in bad weather and at night. The young leaves can be eaten in salads and the flowers made into wine.
So proud of our 2nd grade! Demonstrating solid knowledge of ecosystems, sustainability, worm anatomy and lifecycle, nitrogen cycle, function of roots, decomposition, and importance of healthy soil. Our worm bin project has it all! #schoolgarden#science@SandyJacksonokc
Successfully removing a starter plant from the tray without damaging the roots is just the beginning of a number of challenges your students might face in the #garden.😅
Challenges allow for problem solving and even mistakes, which are just learning opportunities in disguise!🌱
“Plant a tree and get oxygen free” JSSIS educating children the importance of preserving mother nature and encouraging young enthusiasts to explore our school garden.
Green Ambassadors teaching students about @TerraCycle in our school and how to recycle plastics # 1, 2, 5 in the lunchroom. Proud of how they take the lead on Green initiatives!
