Remembering Phil Byrne, owner of @seansbarathlone who passed away suddenly last Friday night, Phil was a co-litigant in the @fbd_ie Covid insurance cases and his integrity and determination demonstrated during the case was reflective of his character. Phil shunned the limelight but his skilful evidence during the case was a very important factor for pubs up and down the country to be rightfully compensated by FBD.
We became good friends and spent many long conversations taking about the hospitality industry and horse racing. He will be missed by all who knew him especially his wife Cathy and three children, whom he dearly loved. Phil was decent and kind man and his loss will be felt across Athlone, Chicago, Greenhills and @nolan_racing

The industry couldn’t have made more noise about the crisis in our sector !@adriancummins .Decision is beyond tone deaf and once again favours the business with scale whilst ignoring the hard working people trying to make a difference to our precious hospitality landscape .
Corporation tax revenues look to be surging yet again. Figures published just now show €3.7bn was collected in August alone. That's more than double the same month in 2023 and almost as much as was collected in a full year a decade ago.
Any hotels who have cancelled hotel bookings (contracts) and re-listed these rooms at higher prices (because of Oasis concert) should be investigated by The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and duly prosecuted @CCPCIreland@Failte_Ireland

What a performance by Kellie Harrington. The only fighter in that weight class (60kg) born in the 80s and she looks fitter and sharper than all her opponents. Her dedication and discipline to defend her🥇 is breathtaking. 🇮🇪 🇮🇪
