Daylight reveals the horrific aftermath of the intense tor in Huanggang, Hubei Province last night. The tor picked the deadliest path directly thru the city center, entire rows of bricks homes severely damaged or destroyed, cars tossed. Local authorities confirmed 9 fatalities.

NEW: The FIRST-ever PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) fire weather warning for the state of Utah has been issued.

Nearly the entire state is under red flag (fire weather) warnings.

An extreme wildfire risk has also been drawn by the Storm Prediction Center.

If you live there, have the car packed and fueled up. Have a go-bag ready. Be ready to evacuate at a moment's notice if needed.

The PDS designation, issued by the Weather Service in Salt Lake City, includes Marysvale, Junction in Piute County, Panguitch in Garfield County, Beaver and Milford in Beaver County, Cedar City and Ecoch in Iron County. Enterprise and Pine Valley in Washington County are also included, as well as regions near the Cottonwood Fire.

West to southwesterly winds will increase behind a dry cold front, with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times. Already-dry air being pulled down mountains will dry out even more, with relative humidities plummeting to as little as 7 to 12 percent.
