@anandsinghcmo Every single time, like the world can sense it. Phone in another room plus a status that says when you're back usually buys me the first hour.
@martiano This is such a good trick. A break with a clear finish line beats one that can turn into scrolling, and you come back with your head reset. Does it ever backfire when one chore turns into three?
@oianas_ This is the part most deep work advice skips. A messy 20 minutes still keeps the habit alive, and the next day starts easier because you didn't break the thread.
@thevaronyc Agree, and a lot of it is setup too. A fixed start time and the same spot and music every session does half the job discipline gets credit for.
Most deep work sessions don't die in the middle. They die before they start.
What gets me going is the same focus music every time and knowing other people are already working. Starting feels less like a decision then. #deepwork
@babsbuild Rough combo. Maybe plan the deep blocks around when power is most reliable, and keep an offline task ready (writing, specs, local code) so an outage doesn't end the session, it just switches it.
Coquiet: free shared rooms for deep work. Focus music, the quiet sense of others working, a timer only if you want it. No accounts, cameras or chat.
I built it because I focus deeper when I'm not working alone. Newest room is an ambiance one.
