@mattacusmaximus For my part, I check in here every so often. But you know where you can find us. I'm literally the same handle on https://t.co/uBFHw85Ozu. Most of us are. And the conversations there are KICKIN. Who knows where things end up but living in two spaces while things shake out is okay
Just so ya'll know, the #Sophos VIP protection doesn't work as advertised. That's why we test. Because everyone wants to claim they repel lions and demos are canned. https://t.co/O8GJLrqJ0F
There's needs to be an Angie's List for security products so we can share notes on the shit that's a pack of lies bound up in a good marketing wrapper. For example, #Sophos is a vendor who continually disappoints through misrepresentation of product quality and capability.
@info_sprinkles In my view - this is a place for industry top 1%ers. If you don't have 10k+ followers - you'll likely be drowned out by outrage, drama, and folks with greater presence.
That's all fine. It's not for me. I moved most of my focus over to https://t.co/uBFHw85Ozu
As part of a research project, I took a look at the average payouts of many of the HackerOne clients. They seem really paltry. While I've seen a number of "success stories", I am curious what the income of the median HackerOne tester looks like.
Them look like sweatshop numbers
It's Friday, instead of paying attention to what Kanye is doing or ragetweeting with bots, here's your reminder that Dan Geer is the deepest thinker in security and any second you spend contemplating what he's saying is a second well spent.
Two essential talks, feel free to add–
@TychoTithonus Our security team pushed so many update Chrome (and Firefox) tickets to our image management team that they built components to regularly grab and push the latest updates.
@info_sprinkles At the risk of repeating the mistake we just discussed - is there a language at the edge of popularity that could displace Python in 15 - 20 years?
@info_sprinkles I understand. No disrespect to Perl but I had my reasons (as you do) for preferring Python. The habit of dismissing on technology because it's not what is currently in style is pretty short sighted. An all too human problem. :)
Trust is absolutely crucial with cloud. Especially when one lacks the needed forensic access to establish what the fuck really happened. Microsoft’s approach leaves a lot to be desired in the realms of trust and good faith conduct. https://t.co/EjuPP8Wq46
Me learning to deal with the Fed is me having to adjust to the fact that someone somewhere will quibble over a document not having a complete middle name in it.
