@BStardAlan@nonregemesse@JoolsJuevans So Normandy, Norway, Denmark and Germany are all the same place are they?
What do you mean I don’t recognise English as an ethnicity - of course I fucking do!
“I'm brown. I’m a Muslim. But I’m as English as a Yorkshire cup of tea.”
Mothin Ali on belonging, diversity and building a country confident enough to live with difference.
@GingerWooWoo@nonregemesse@JoolsJuevans Nature did a study back in 2022, found 25-45% Anglo-Saxon, around 6% Viking, single digit at most Norman and about another 10-25% Medieval and post-Medieval ancestry from France and the Low Countries.
@BStardAlan@nonregemesse@JoolsJuevans What are you talking about? I do recognise the English, but we aren’t some aryan race going back 1,000 years. I know exactly where the Anglo-Saxons came from, I did a degree in History. Do cunts like you really think you are pure-bred Anglo-Saxon with no other blood in you?
@sarahditum So which box did you tick in the 2021 census?
My guess would be ‘English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish or British’
Something wrong with people like you.
@nonregemesse@JoolsJuevans I am not deconstructing.
Ok, tell me, when did the English first appear? Who were their ancestors?
If you haven’t noticed, Normans, Romans, Celts, Vikings, Angles, Saxons, none of them exist anymore.
@DPJHodges Being born in this country gives you nationality but it doesn’t give you ethnicity if your parents are Black or Asian does it. Even the government recognises this, why can you?
