Congratulations to the @VaHouse Freshman Class of 2024! I enjoyed being with you during orientation & I look forward to our work to move Virginia forward together.
Have you VOTED, yet⁉️
Please #ElectEquality‼️
What does that mean exactly❓
It means that we should support candidates who have our best interests in mind, like our universal #equality — equality for women, for people of color, for LGBTQ+ persons, for students, and when it comes to #equalpay, #equalpromotion, #reproductiverights, #abortion, #healthcare, #maternal & #infantmortality, #disability and more! It means evening the playing field so there is less discrimination, more #equity & inclusion, and shrinking the gap between the haves and the have-nots! And of course, it means recognizing #genderequality in the U.S. Constitution!
Elect those folks — the candidates that care about #peopleprogress and put YOU first!

Congratulations to all our endorsed #equality-champion candidates who meet our 6 core requirements+! Here’s a recap of all the *Senate* candidates #VirginiaNOW PAC has endorsed! They deserve your vote! Sincerest thanks to each and every one of them for stepping up to run to represent us all. That, alone, takes courage. They deserve your applause for going out on a limb and opening themselves up to serve #Virginia residents in every jurisdiction. We’re proud of our diverse candidates representing all backgrounds and skill sets.

Thanks to all the students across Virginia working with #VirginiaNOW to get out the vote on college campuses this VERY consequential election! We appreciate you and your civic engagement. You’re the fire 🔥that will uplift #democracy! We’re all fighting together for your futures! #GOTV #Vote
Here’s to the students @MaryWash proudly working on behalf of a #VirginiaNOW grant received from @NationalNOW Foundation! They’ve been working their behinds off to register students to #vote and into the #GOTV phase. Way to go!
#VirginiaNOW PAC endorses @michaelbush4va — a licensed financial advisor and insurance agent — who shares, “My priorities are to increase our public school funding and retain existing social service programs and other adjacent departments to support staff with the resources they need to give residents access to benefits and services to improve their quality of life. I will look to find opportunities to create green, eco-friendly infrastructure, transportation, and utilities. I want to help lower our county’s carbon footprint by lowering the cost of the sectors simultaneously.”
“I’m a labor-endorsed candidate and #economicjustice will be a large point of my advocacy. I stand with families, educators, employees, small businesses, and farmers on this issue of providing benefits to the working class.“
Michael is an only child. He’s currently learning Spanish. He’s led marches for #BlackLivesMatter and created the first peaceful walk-out event in support and recognition of the victims of the Parkland High School shooting in his senior year of high school. His grandfather, Elliott Grey Young, marched with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. His grandmother, Wilma Young — a white woman —married his black grandfather in the 1950s during the #JimCrow era.
#VirginiaNOW PAC endorses @pohlforvirginia who openly shares her painful story, “I had an #abortion in 2016 due to a silent miscarriage. I firmly support every person’s right to bodily autonomy and abortion care. I have friends & family, including my #trans teen, who are #LGBTQIA and I understand the unique challenges they face daily to just be who they are.”
“As Clerk, my first priority is to modernize #Chesterfield Circuit Court to conduct court business online and implement e-filing. This will help people who need to work and would otherwise have to take time off to come to the courthouse. It will also reduce errors by reducing the number of people who have to input information. I’ve plans to create “self-file” guides for people who cannot afford an attorney, but who also do not qualify for legal aid. There are many simple, legal matters that can be handled without an attorney. This will especially help #domesticviolence & #sexualassault #survivors who are frequently ineligible for services due to income, but have limited access to money.”
“The Chesterfield Circuit Court provides low wages to its employees. I recently saw an ad for a position in the office listed for a 28-week duration, thus making these employees ineligible for health insurance. This is wrong and I’ll change it as Clerk of Court. I will also conduct a thorough review of all employment practices and upgrade them as needed to be fair to all employees. I’ve long been an advocate of living wages and #accessibility. Making the courts more #accessible especially to our low-wage families is critical for government service accessibility.“
#VirginiaNOW PAC endorses @julibriskman who tells us, “I have a proven record of supporting working women, delivering for Loudoun families, effective constituent services, advocating for the dignity of workers, and funding schools. This work must continue and that’s why I’m running for a second term.”
Juli’s priorities also include attainable #housing, improving infrastructure, fighting data center sprawl, maintaining and creating green space, ensuring #transparency and #equity, supporting #unions to help reduce #wagegaps for women and people of color, and more!
Juli is also a big #ERANow supporter fighting with us in the trenches for #equalrights.
#VirginiaNOW endorses #ERANow fan favorite @JCarrollFoy — the first #publicdefender
ever elected to the General Assembly — who shares, “I will fight against TRAP laws specifically created for the purpose of shutting down #abortion clinics by imposing medically unnecessary requirements, such as forcing clinics to use a certain fabric on their windows or expanding the width of their hallways. I’ll also advocate for #transpeople to have expanded access to abortion care and make certain that we talk about reproductive healthcare as an issue that impacts not just women, but all people.
#Reproductiverights are about autonomy and freedom, and I promise to protect, defend, and expand that right so Virginia is a more #equitable, and just Commonwealth for all.”
“I am proud to have led the charge cementing #Virginia as the final and #38thState to ratify the #EqualRightsAmendment.”
“As a public defender, I see firsthand how there are two systems: one that degrades marginalized communities and another that works well for everyone else. I’ve spent years advocating for those who could not advocate for themselves, including women, the disabled, the marginalized, and the poor.”
#VirginiaNOW PAC endorses @AV4Springfield — a PhD engineer and small business owner — who shares, “What separates me from my opponent is my goal to attract and foster organizations that directly impact access to reproductive healthcare to the Springfield district, especially ones that bring services to communities in need.
One of the main reasons I’m running for supervisor is to address our county’s #affordablehousing crisis. So many other critical issues are connected to having housing. The Springfield District is dead last in market affordable rental homes. Working families deserve the opportunity to live, work, and raise a family in our district. When elected, one of my first Board Matters will be to look toward incorporating affordable and workforce housing on county property in the district. When working families spend less on housing, they can allocate those funds to necessities, such as childcare or education.”
Only 1 week left…What are you waiting for, #Virginia#Voters?! It’s time to get out your vote and paint the state pink with votes for candidates protecting our #abortion and reproductive planning rights!
You can vote early through Saturday, 11/4 in select locations and on Tuesday, 11/7, #ElectionDay at your regular polling location!
#PinkVirginia #PinkWave #GOTV #bellwether
#VirginiaNOW PAC endorses @KarrieKDelaney whom we’ve been so fortunate to work with on bills, including last year’s “CCTV bill” which was all about protecting the youngest #trauma#victims - children. Had it passed, it would’ve protected all #childabuse victims (minors) when testifying in court in front of their perpetrators. This bill would have enabled children to testify in another courtroom via 2-way closed circuit television (CCTV) so children could speak freely and without intimidation by a defendant.
Karrie shares, “Putting people before politics is more than just a bumper sticker to me. Working with kids in foster care and with #survivors of #sexualassault, I witnessed firsthand just how policy can harm the most vulnerable among us. Every vote I take you can guarantee the first question I ask myself is, ‘How will this help Virginians?’“
Karrie’s legislative priorities are “building a strong economy that works for everyone; a world class education for every child in #Virginia; quality #healthcare that is affordable and accessible for every community; protecting the #environment; and standing up against #injustice.”
#VirginiaNOW PAC was out canvassing today this second to the last weekend before a consequential election! We were on the doors for our #equality champion candidates where we formally announced endorsements for all three really good people: @AV4Springfield & @LauraJaneCohen along with #ERANow favorite, @JCarrollFoy
#VirginiaNOW PAC endorses @Falcon4Fairfax who shares with us his powerful WHY:
“So many residents run into barriers when trying to #access the #justice system.
* They’ve run into barriers b/c they cannot afford attorneys.
* They’ve run into barriers b/c English is not their first language.
*They’ve run into barriers b/c they cannot physically get to the courthouse and may not own their own transportation.
*They don’t have paid child care or paid time off from work.
* I’m running a campaign to eliminate those #equity gaps!”
“Fairfax County Circuit Court is the only county clerk’s office in VA that requires people to pay $150 in order to access their public information online. This disproportionately affects working families, and having access to their information should not mean suffering lost wages in order to review files at a courthouse when residents in every other county are able to do so for free online.”
Chris has been practicing law in #Virginia for 15 years and is a Fairfax County resident currently working as the Deputy Clerk of Court in Arlington. He’s ready for Fairfax on Day 1!
We’re so excited to be in camaraderie with some of #Virginia’s finest orgs working to get out the vote! Let’s go #PinkVirginia and get out the #feminist vote across our Commonwealth!
