My goal with this page is to create some transparency between patients/ clients / anyone else who's interested and the health care system. To shed light on being a black woman in PT and share my journey. To create representation around black health.
HIP MOBILITY - Everyone loves a “glute activation” but we forget about the adductors. With their tie in on the pelvis and their impact on hip mobility they should be a priority as well
-Supported Leg Whips
-Step outs with banded pull in
-Lateral Drop ins
-Dynamic Groin Drifts
One thing I struggle with as I continue to dive into my PT career, is dealing with this imposter syndrome.
I've been trying to figure out what next area of therapy I want to dive into and I am torn and afraid I'm not ready for the jump. I feel under qualified for these roles 😔

She delivered the message with such eloquent kindness but kept it 100% real.
And I swear I’ve been having this conversation with ppl for the last couple months .

Never thought I would see a day where people appropriated the term first gen. People just don't want to accept their privilege and want to feel included
Forgot to mark my 1 year milestone working as Physical Therapist at my current employer yesterday. As I reflect, I understand all the wisdom my professors said occurs within the first few years as a new grad.
Grateful for 1 year down, looking forward for many years ahead
Top golf. Axe throwing. Gun range. Mud riding. Jet skiing. Museum. Aquarium. Zip lining. Wine tastings. Paint and Sip Nites. Fishing. Laser tag. Candle making. Pottery and cooking classes. Go kart racing. Escape room. NBA and NFL games. These are the things I like as a date🥹.
Becoming a physical therapist has been a goal of mine for the last 6 years or so. To finally be on the other side of school and boards is the best feeling ever. So grateful and happy to have found this profession ❤️
Am I the only one that sees a problem with working 8-9 hours a day and then going home to having about 4 hours to yourself which includes getting ready for the next day??? This is not life…
See black patients light up in the hospital when my CI (a black woman ) and myself walk into the room, introduce ourselves, and perform therapy on them 😮💨🥹☺️.
Words don’t even do it justice.
Highlight of everyday.
This! I felt so tired and only had enough energy to get me through work. Was suggested by my mom to get my Vit D checked and low and behold... I had very low Vit D levels
IDK who needs to hear this, but don’t let any physician gaslight you into thinking having low vitamin D is totally fine. For the first time in 8 years of my illness, it’s been addressed and I feel MUCH BETTER.
