Awesome free hand stencil and outline of our warrior head by former Alumni and Coach @Jay_cummings44! Hard worker with a servants mentality. True definition of “Warrior”
ICYMI: @LadyWarriors_SB's bats got hot late and McKinley Moore took care of the rest in an 8-0 win over @RipleySoftball on Thursday. #djpreps https://t.co/5PqyqYNGau
God is SO good! I am a super excited & blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic & athletic career at the next level at @NEMCCBASEBALL . Thank you to my family & coaches who have encouraged & guided me along the way. @kevo16@willbrand14@richharrelson
Call me crazy BUT middle school athletes training at 530 am before school and then training again at 330 pm then going to practice and special conditioning is a recipe for disastrous injuries and hate for sports.
Burn out is real. I can’t believe the schedule one of my 12 YO hockey athletes has. This kid is going to need 6,000 kcal at this rate and I’m not sure he even has time to eat the meals let alone be a kid, get his homework done, and have time to think.
Training at the youth level is getting out of control. I played multiple sports my entire life, college athlete, and still train competitively today. A big part of being healthy is rest and recovery. Both of which middle school and high school athletes aren’t getting enough of lately.
Kids need to be kids. NIL deals for youth athletes is also a terrible idea. These are human beings not pawns to make money off of. My two cents and take on the matter ✌️ 🌶️
PAP (post-activation potentiation) or PAPE (post-activation performance enhancement -as shown here) is a really useful physiologic phenomenon
This is an extremely useful physiologic phenomenon that can:
1. Enhance power based rehab & performance
2. Potentially overcome inhibition preventing quality muscle activation during rehab
PAP refers to:
The influence of a muscle’s contractile history on subsequent performance
Often we think about this from a negative influence, such as muscle fatigue, however in acute settings high-intensity dynamic muscle contractions, or a single maximal isometric contraction can enhance the next performance.
I cover this in detail in all of my courses, including the online course

@Challenger_ST@BeavStu The job of the SC Coach is to prepare athletes to be able to physically compete at optimal performance. I’ve helped countless athletes return to optimal through proprioceptive exercises and recovery/mobility/balance. It is a coordinated team of SC and AT at the HS level
