Resiliency.

Now I’m not saying this corn looks amazing. And I’m not saying it’s going to do 300 bushel. But a week ago this field looked virtually like a dirt field, post hail.

Aren’t these living plants remarkable? Agriculture as a whole, never ceases to amaze me.

Finally some university evidence supporting what good agronomists have long known - high yield corn is driven more by kernel weight than kernel count. High yield corn is all about the last 40 days! Test weight / kernel size / kernel weight is SIGNIFICANT!

2021 was a big year for big yields in the NCGA corn yield contest with 418 entries topping 300 bu/acre, easily surpassing the previous high of 224 set in 2017. Pioneer extended its run as the top seed brand among high yield entries.

Want 2 b a better user of N in your corn crop? Check your soil test K levels! Great research by OSU showing what we see in customers fields. Low K requires more N & still delivers less bushels. Raised 44 more bu on 100 LESS lbs of N b/c of better K levels. 0.85 units of N/bu.
