Aaand now my re-translation of Spyro Advance is finally released! Re-experience Season of Ice...with a (very much needed) map!
A huge, huge thanks to @RayCarrot for assisting with reimporting the US graphics and developing the tool that was used to help make this hack.
A bit awkward to mention after my recent retweets, but I'm now officially married and had a wonderful celebration on the 28th!
I apologize for the inactivity. I'm hoping I can become more active again soon.
@Avery_969 @somari8591 My bad! I apologize for coming across as dismissive over the feelings of others who donated.
It's just...weird to me because I don't see a benefit on his end to let the money sit like this outside of bragging how much was donated to the charity.
@somari8591 I guess what I don't understand is _why_ he did it if it was with malicious intent.
Like why wouldn't he just...spend the money at some point? Everything I'm hearing seems to indicate little to nothing was actually spent.
@KirbyCheatFurby From a marketing standpoint I absolutely understand why Twelve Tales was canned (probably would've sold like rubbish) but at the same time Bad Fur Day's base movement is so damn fun and smooth that I _really_ wish we got a game that focused solely on that.
@RayCarrot Yeah, this feels like it's trying to emulate Rayman's movements when emerging from a respawn in 2 with the way the body is lifted into the air?
@graysonZ80 I'm kinda baffled as I don't think it has anything to do with Charles' takes being reused being seen as an issue to Nintendo (the TTYD remake and MvDK are re-using his work), but I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't just re-use the audio here.
@graysonZ80 Were there any microgames based on previous Nintendo games that used voice clips from the actual games?
The closest I can think of is that Pikmin 2 microgame in Smooth Moves (the Pikmin death screams were reused).
@Missingno123311 Honestly I'd have to give World 1 another spin. I don't recall Down the Tubes being that bad but thought Under Pressure was the weakest level of the Factory set (I do like the concept though with how much it emphasizes going out of the way to rescue Jr.).
@KirbyCheatFurby These were never an issue prior to the rebranding. I randomly had one like my post seconds after replying to one of your posts because of a word I had used in it.
The initial big scares with finances and my wife's mom going into the hospital for heart surgery thankfully were resolved, so I'm super happy we were both able to have the wedding we wanted. β€οΈ
@x_khou Honestly last time I played OG World 1 was through the NTSC-J release and I don't recall much feeling unfairly frustrating outside of King Galaxian (button mashing).
What points in OG World 1 do you consider frustrating? The worst offender I can think of is NTSC-U/PAL Anubis.
@sleeprhit_ The listing and odd release date for the GBA port makes me think there's some truth to the magazine listing and the hardware switch resulted in it getting stuck in development hell briefly.
Though I can't imagine why Namco didn't just pull the plug if that theory has any weight.
@sleeprhit_ The GBA port seemingly starting out life as a GBC port and Re-Pac using concept art makes me wonder if both teams had access to some sort of document from the PSX team's work that explained the gameplay loop/collectibles and the family being optional was mentioned there.
@sleeprhit_ It just feels very weird to me both GBA and Re-Pac would do this, and there is some slight evidence suggesting the GBA port started out as a GBC port (so the port would've been developed significantly closer to the original title's release).
@sleeprhit_ I forgot about that despite owning both! It feels weird that two separate versions would include this feature.
I dunno. It feels a bit too coincidental to me. Has cheating been done in the PSX version to warp to the Toc-Man fight on a fresh save to see if the photo changes?
