El 21 de enero de 2026 compré en YouTube mi película favorita, Contact. Ahora, aunque cambie la pista de audio a español, solo se reproduce en inglés y a 480p. Muchos usuarios se quejan de lo mismo.

Este es el problema de depender de licencias digitales: no eres dueño de nada. La empresa puede cambiar idiomas, configuraciones, disponibilidad o condiciones y tú como cliente no tienes margen de maniobra.

Por eso me preocupa tanto el rumbo de la industria: @RockstarGames con su GTA VI, @PlayStation y @Sony apostando por lo digital y ahora @YouTube demostrando que “comprar” no significa poseer.

El formato físico no es nostalgia. Es defensa del consumidor.

The great panic in universities is that students are using AI to write essays.

This rather misses the more embarrassing problem: we have been designing essays that a machine ought to be able to write.

We hand students the topic.

Then the rubric.

Then the structure.

Then the required readings.

Then the criteria.

Then, with magnificent solemnity, we ask them to demonstrate originality inside a box whose dimensions we have already specified.

Naturally AI performs well at this. We have converted education into an exercise in obedient assembly.

The real question should not be: “Can the student produce 2,000 competent words on a topic we selected?”

It should be: can they identify an interesting problem, formulate a worthwhile question, find the weakness in the existing argument, construct something novel, defend it, and recognise where their own reasoning fails?

That is intellectual work.

AI can help with language, synthesis, search, coding and structure. It can generate plausible arguments with astonishing speed.

What it still does not reliably provide is independent intellectual judgement: deciding which problem matters, which premise is wrong, which contradiction is worth pursuing, and which apparently elegant answer is actually rubbish.

If universities want assessments that AI cannot trivialise, they should stop testing regurgitation.

Give students tools.

Then test whether they can think.

The scandal is not that AI can write the essay.

The scandal is that we designed the essay so that thinking was optional.

Reminder to go touch grass

A scientist in Japan demonstrated that the air inside a forest strengthens your immune system for a full month

The study is incredibly fascinating:

Qing Li, an immunologist at Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, took 12 men on a 3-day forest trip. These were slow walks with no breathing exercises and no set route.

Then he tested their blood and found a surge in natural killer cells -- the immune cells your body uses to fight cancer and virus-infected cells.

Remarkably, the effect didn't fade when they went home, it was still measurable 30 days later.

A control group that walked the same distance through a city showed no change at all.

Pine, cedar, and cypress trees release compounds called phytoncides to defend themselves from insects and bacteria. You breathe them in, and Li believes they switch your immune cells into high gear.

He estimates one forest walk a month may be enough to keep those cells elevated all year.

The best medicine might not even need a prescription -- just a walk among the trees.

@PeterDiamandis I’d use it to fight unlicensed practice in fitness, nutrition, and aesthetics. I’d create an inspection agency to stop illegal operators and support qualified professionals—so people with degrees aren’t pushed into unrelated jobs while anyone can sell diets or training plans.

De 7.451 juegos de ps5, 6.331 existen solo en digital, ¡no tienen una contrapartida física! Si hay demanda, lo que no hay es opción. Y lo de "las descargas ya suponen el 85% frente al 15%" es mentida, Sony cuenta también DLC's y micropagos. Esto es la ante sala de un Bücherverbrennung 2.0.

@crismartinj Confundir la tecnología con el uso que algunos hacen de ella es un error. La IA sí es una revolución tecnológica. Más bien la combinación de la computación en paralelo de @nvidia , las redes neuronales y la disponibilidad masiva de datos, lo que ha hecho posible este salto.
