@RPowellDennis97 (Q4) A: Social Emotional Learning (SEL) best practices should be infused into all that we do. Schools should support and encourage school counselors and social workers to conduct 1:1 non academic check-ins with students, as well as host group discussions via discussion boards.

@RPowellDennis97 (Q3) A: We have to decrease the number of pupils/ADM to teacher. With the absence of classroom stimuli students are going to need more inventive pathways into differentiated instruction. Teachers will need more time & resources to evaluate each student’s learning benchmarks.

@RPowellDennis97 (Q1) A: Similarly to how Katrina forced New Orleans to adapt to a large-scale school choice model, COVID-19 has forced states, districts, and schools to adapt to remote/online learning. If there’s ever been a need to meet students and families where they are — the time has come.
