Part of the reason they gave up their powers was in exchange the UK doesn't abolish them and covers their expenses. Plus since their bring in more money then the government spends on them. And they bring millions of tourists to the UK and means billions are generated in revenue for the UK Economy. Which is more than what the UK Government spends on them.
