Zionists Refuse Global Ceasefire Consensus; Rampage in Lebanon
Laith Marouf rushes to the scene of a massacre a block away from his home in Beirut, where the Zionists conducted an attack on a residential building and led to the martyrdom of 15 civilians, and injury of tens more. The attack was one of more than a hundred launched by the pedo-cannibal regime on Lebanon, in defiance of the global consensus for a ceasefire in West Asia.

The scale of the killing & destruction in #Lebanon today is nothing short of horrific. @volker_turk condemns deadly wave of #Israeli strikes, as hundreds – incl. civilians – are killed and injured in carnage. Civilians & civilian infrastructure must be protected.
The int'l community must act quickly to help bring an end to this nightmare.

“Miranda was then struck from behind, handcuffed and put into an unmarked vehicle that took him to Portland’s ICE building, Fuller said.”
People are outraged that this happened to a US citizen. There should be outrage when ANYONE is treated this way.

@AlekHouillion Respectfully, aren’t the daily airstrikes on civilians exactly what some US politicians are expressing (weakly) concern about? Rather than the well-being of a Lebanese state?
@gardengirl778@racatiwood@Newsweek Anti-Zionism doesn’t mean “wiping Israel off the map”. Many anti-Zionists want to see a binational state and coexistence, not elimination of either side.
Some anti-Zionists are anti-Semitic, just as some Zionists are White Supremacists.
Your definitions are propaganda. Read.
@gardengirl778@racatiwood@Newsweek Opposition to a Jewish State in Palestine is no more anti-Semitic than opposition to an Islamic State in Iraq is Islamophobic
@gardengirl778@racatiwood@Newsweek No, Zionism is the belief that the Jewish people should be not just a religious community but a political nation with its own sovereign territory. And if it’s a political movement and not just faith, opposition to it is also politically legitimate.
Migrant domestic workers' severe isolation and vulnerability due to the structural constraints of the kafala system, has left them unprepared and unsupported in the face of ongoing conflict and displacement in Lebanon.
This local crisis mirrors global trends, where migrant labourers are often the first to be discarded in times of conflict.
In response, grassroots solidarity networks, including migrant rights collectives, faith-based organisations and community initiatives, have become critical lifelines.
Drawing from our ongoing needs assessment with MDWs around Beirut, @MYRMEK and I write on preliminary findings and broader implications for @alrawiyamag's latest issue “Silenced Land, Powerful Voices”. ⬇️
The bombs raining on Beirut now are destroying our city- They, and the tanks on our borders are also the last nail in the coffin of any belief in a humanitarian human order, international law, and global justice. It is even scarier to imagine the future now than to hear the bombs
And Israel deems their bombardment in Beirut “moral” because they (sometimes) give evacuation orders before dropping bombs on homes
There’s nothing humane about forcing everyone to watch Twitter until 4am to see if they have to rush their families out of bed and into the street
We have just learned that an Israeli airstrike killed our dear and long-time friend Dina Darwiche, and severely injured members of her family. Dina was the gentlest and kindest soul we knew.
She had been dedicated to her humanitarian work with UNHCR for as long as I can remember. Her human rights work from as early as our university days will echo through the halls of @NDU_Louaize and beyond, always.
I am broken. I am absolutely destroyed. I cannot breathe. When will the world let us breathe?!
Our latest study seeks to understand the scope, needs, and capacities of migrant communities connected to Jesuit networks in Beirut and Bourj Hammoud. It aims to raise awareness about the existing organizations, community groups, and mutual aid networks that support migrants and refugees.
It covers a diverse range of actors: Sri Lankan and other South Asian communities actively involved with the Achrafieh Cricket Club, parishioners of St. Joseph Tabaris Church, and organizations of Filipina, East African, and other national and ethnic groups. It also includes Sudanese and South Sudanese families and individuals connected to the Bakhita Group, and the new South Sudanese Women’s Association, a refugee-led organization.
Additionally, it highlights the involvement of the African United Communities of Lebanon within these migrant and refugee networks: https://t.co/9QKpbBBOIW
