Together with @jasminldiab, I write for @alrawiyamag about how Israel's war on Lebanon has further alienated and marginalized migrants workers.

Paper out in @JMHSjournal today. It's been such a painful year.
This study engages with Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian LGBTIQ+ IDPs from South Lebanon, where the intersection of their sexual and gender identities with displacement necessitates a precarious balance—staying invisible to most while selectively visible to a trusted few.
The research challenges rigid distinctions between "refugee" and "IDP" for this group, emphasizing the need for inclusive frameworks that reflect the intersectional realities of the hyper-marginalized in displacement.

Palestinians don’t need your sympathy or your symbolic gestures. We need you to cut ties with our killers and colonizers. We need you to boycott, divest from, and sanction Israel. Yes that includes academic institutions, whose commitment to genocide is well documented.
The Syrian regime had barely fallen that European states were suspending asylum procedures, and considering the repatriation of refugees. Such precipitation is obscene and undue.
It’s also counterproductive: It will slow the flow of volunteer returns instead of enabling them 🧵
Have you conducted operations with "business as usual" or shown true empathy to colleagues suffering in #wars & #disaster? A good end of year reminder to not just pay lipservice but to nurture policies for #solidarity and #care.

To all those who wanted so desperately to declare #Syria as safe for refugee returns, I hope you watch these scenes and feel shame and remorse. To all those that revoked protection and deported thousands: This should be a reckoning.
Many Lebanese officials celebrating Assad’s fall today are ones that continuously called for mass deportations of Syrians to Syria, & into Assad’s dungeons, despite warnings by rights orgs
May this be a moment of reckoning for world leaders. Syria was never safe under Assad.
Jeg hevder i Aftenposten i dag at Cooper, Dahl og Hellestveit gir et tildels misvisende og ufullstendig bilde av folkerettsreglene som gjelder for krigføringen i Midtøsten.
#BREAKING Norway's sovereign wealth fund, the world's largest, divests from Israel's Bezeq for providing telecoms services to the Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

In its first operation since the ceasefire announcement, #Hezbollah confirmed it targeted the Ruwaisat al-Alam site in the Kfar Shuba hills. In a statement on Monday, it described the attack as an “initial warning” in response to Israel’s repeated ceasefire violations in recent days which killed two individuals in Nabatieh and Marjayoun on Monday.
Hezbollah stated that Israeli violations have taken various forms, including shooting at civilians, airstrikes on different areas across Lebanon, and the continued violation of Lebanese airspace by warplanes. The statement also noted that attempts to address these violations with the relevant parties were unsuccessful, prompting the group to carry out this attack.
The Israeli occupation army has violated the ceasefire more than 74 times since the agreement came into effect last Wednesday. Israeli media reported that US Special Envoy Amos Hochstein informed Israeli officials about violations on their part, with France warning Israel about the “risk of the ceasefire agreement collapsing in #SouthernLebanon” due to the violations.
