NEW: Israeli snipers shot and killed a young girl as she was playing in the sand near a displacement camp in Mawasi, Khan Younis.

Journalist Ibrahim Alsallouti reports the child was directly struck by the bullet.

🚨Israeli forces killed 14 more hungry Palestinians on their way to collect food at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) distribution points today.

Among the dead was a woman, Hanan, who had been trying to feed her children and family. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos: Israeli quadcopters hovered overhead, tanks advanced, and soldiers opened fire on starving crowds.

The majority of the killings took place near the Rafah distribution site in al-Mawasi, but a similar scene unfolded at the GHF site in central Gaza, where at least 31 others were wounded — most shot in the head, neck, or chest, indicating deliberate targeting.

At the end of the day’s distribution, Israeli forces fired tear gas at the survivors to drive them away.

Earlier, Israel’s Foreign Ministry posted a video showing Palestinian children carrying heavy GHF food boxes after walking miles to reach the distribution sites and surviving Israel’s daily massacres along the way. The caption read: “Smiles don’t lie.”

The Editor-in-Chief of the Jerusalem Post is denying that Israeli forces burned to death nine children from the Al-Najjar family in Khan Yunis yesterday. His “proof” the massacre didn’t occur? A random online account shared the wrong photo.

This isn’t the first time the Jerusalem Post has trafficked in outright disinformation. In December 2023, under a previous editor-in-chief, Avi Mayer, the paper published a now-deleted article claiming a dead Palestinian baby was actually a doll. The image, which showed five-month-old Muhammad Hani al-Zahar killed in an Israeli airstrike, was authenticated by Getty Images and Reuters.
