One thing I noticed about Charlie Kirk is that whenever he starts losing an argument, he often pivots to a faith based angle. When someone like him shifts a debate about policy, rights, or ethics into a strictly faith based framework, it makes real dialogue difficult because it puts the discussion on grounds that not everyone shares. In a pluralistic country, where people have the right to follow any religion (or none at all), moral and political arguments need to rest on something broader than one particular faith tradition. That’s why we need shared standards, like human well being, fairness, avoiding harm, and basic human rights so the conversation can include everyone.
