Saddened to hear Charlie Gordon, a staple in Astoria, passed away this weekend. Over 30 years, he became “The Sandwich King” and few could argue that. Thoughts and condolences go out to the entire Sal, Kris & Charlie's family.

Great meeting with #NewtownCreek stakeholders ahead of last night’s boat tour.
We need to work together on making this a healthy waterway after it absorbed pollution for generations.
Thanks to @NewtownCreek for your ongoing advocacy!
Crossing the Triborough by anything but the car right now is incredibly dangerous. We need to promote a more holistic transit system that reduces greenhouse gases and promotes other ways of getting around.
This morning I stood with @TransAlt, @SenGianaris & @AravellaSimotas to make a simple ask of @MTA: reopen the Triborough’s southern pedestrian path, create separate lanes for biking & walking, and install protective fencing.
