Instead of sprint, we focus on player physics.
In the clip below, you can see me use a slope bounce to make a jump I couldn't make otherwise.
(I also kept the recording going so you could see some authentic movement, mistakes and all.)
@Radical_Rad_ We don't have Mac support planned, I'm afraid. I think you might be the first person that's requested it.
If something happens and it becomes feasible, however, we'll sound off for sure.
Ringfall will be $15 btw. :)
Originally was going to be $20, but we wanted to make it easier for people to jump in when we release.
Doesn't make sense to me to raise prices when times are tough.
I'm going to talk a bit about our "No sprint" direction soon, as well!
@Mk2Sektor Quick update: I sent our conversation to our programmer. We'll do our best to add bots later on. I can't promise when or to what extent, but we'd like to add it in the future.
Unfortunately, we have one programmer and don't have any funding to pick up another for a feature like this. If we find success, we'd have more resources to work with in this regard.
That being said, your concerns are why we're leaning on community servers. Matchmaking can be convenient, but is very impersonal and can add a lot of pressure for even casual matches.
We want RINGFALL to be a game to make friends on.
When you say deathclock, are you talking about the respawn timer?
If it helps, we are working on a system to help you find the right matches a bit easier. You'll be able to search by match Temperament (Polite, Rowdy, etc.) and Ethos (Casual, Competitive, etc.).
My goal is to help people find communities to be a part of. I figure the hyper-competitive guys can yell at each other in their own spaces, meanwhile people that just want to relax can enjoy themselves.
We want to, but it represents a sizeable chunk of work that would take important time away from everything else.
Bots have come up a few times during meetings, we'd like to add them but doing them right would delay the game by a few months given our team size + lack of budget. If we find success with launch, we'd like to include them at some point.
Is there a specific use case you're after? Or were you just wanting to play against bot players?
