Rob Stark

Lifetime Cougs, Seahawks & Mariners fan, in other words a glutton for punishment. Probably why I like whiskey. Husband to Vicki.

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@pac12 officials have no clue what holding is

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@vinceg55 Geez, last Coug possession a phantom hold on Cougs then on final third down an uncalled offside and face guarding on same play, gotta love pac12 officials

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@AlaskaAir What if you have a paid FC ticket?

[Jay in Kyiv @JayinKyiv]

The new @GOP

- PUTIN IS A FRIEND
- NORTH KOREA IS A FRIEND
- CANADA IS THE ENEMY
- FUND RUSSIA'S WAR AGAINST EUROPE
- GUT THE MILITARY
- INTEREST RATES GOING TO 10%
- NO-PLAN WARS
- LIVESTREAM EXECUTIONS

And they wonder why they're about to be obliterated in midterms

[Margaret Brennan @margbrennan]

Zelenskyy says Trump diesel deal with Putin means more $$ for the war & "only feeds Putin and gives him the ability to fight even more." He calls it a "weak decision" & says his negotiators in Miami now are being used as a "smokescreen."

[Jonah Goldberg @JonahDispatch]

Assuming he’s not joking, this is disturbingly bonkers, even for Trump.

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@AlaskaAir @barkingpumpking Is there a rhyme or reason to getting a chocolate? I'm Gold and have never been given one. I mean it's only a chocolate, but I'm curious.

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@vinceg55 Wondering if Greg’s prediction includes 2 defensive scores, I’m worried it’s going to be a 6-3 game.

I’m sitting here at age 60 with an aching knee, shoulder and elbow, and you’re telling me it’s going to get worse!?!

[Robby Soave @robbysoave]

So, unpopular opinion here maybe, but I do think if you supported a congressional investigation into Hunter Biden's influence peddling, you should probably express perhaps the teensiest bit of discomfort toward Kimberly Guilfoyle and Don Jr.

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@vinceg55 Happy birthday Vince. Have a couple double doubles and a shake. Forgot to remind you that yesterday was the 110th anniversary of the Georgia Tech-Cumberland game.

[Phil Magness @PhilWMagness]

Dear @JDVance:

It's almost like you don't understand tariffs.

Sincerely,

The economics profession

10 years ago today

GOP Sen. Mike Lee: “If anyone spoke to my wife, or my daughter, or my mother, or any of my five sisters, the way Mr. Trump has spoken to women, I wouldn’t hire that person, wouldn’t want to be associated with that person, and I certainly don’t think I’d be comfortable hiring that person to be the leader of the free world.”

[Eric Boehm @EricBoehm87]

It turns out that people who have spent decades studying economics knew more about tariffs than a reality TV game show host

Who could have guessed?!

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@RyanDivish As great as the covers are, I still prefer Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails original.

Cuba rations sugar. The island that once supplied one-third of the world's sugar exports now tells its citizens they get five pounds per person per month, when supplies arrive at all, which they often do not.

Nationalization created this shortage. Fidel Castro nationalized the sugar industry beginning in 1960, seized the privately owned mills and plantations, and handed control to state administrators who had no skin in the game. By the 1990s, production had collapsed from 8 million metric tons annually to under 4 million. By 2023, Cuba produced roughly 350,000 tons. The land did not change, the climate did not change, but the incentive structure did.

A private mill owner in 1958 watched global sugar prices, maintained equipment, paid competitive wages to keep skilled workers, and expanded or contracted accordingly. Strip that owner out, replace him with a ministry bureaucrat whose salary arrives regardless of output, and the information loop breaks. Nobody loses money when the harvest fails. Nobody profits when it succeeds.

Capital does not wait around for better politics. The irrigation infrastructure, the milling equipment, the agronomic knowledge held by exiled plantation families, all of that dispersed across Florida and Spain decades ago. Reconstruction now costs multiples of what preservation would have cost.

Socialists point to the U.S. embargo as the culprit. Cuba trades sugar with dozens of countries. The embargo prevents American purchases, not Cuban production. A state that cannot organize harvests on some of the world's most fertile cane land lacks property rights, not trading partners.

They are telling you they support Hamas's butchery on 10/7/23, as does every other group that is holding anti-Israel/"pro-Palestine" events on 10/7.
When people tell you who they are, believe them.

[TheAlaskaStory.com @Downing907]

A group of thieves steals every one of the 1,200 Israeli flags at an Anchorage Church that were placed in memory of Oct. 7 victims of terrorism.

[Jonah Goldberg @JonahDispatch]

This checks out.

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@JonahDispatch Thought that was his only real accomplishment

[Rob Stark @CougRob]

@JonahDispatch If he wouldn't have put the ME! in parenthesis I never would have known Donald J Trump was President
