@quaski One play never defines your worth! Thank you for sharing such a positive response. I shared this with my son to show him we can all learn to grow from setbacks! All the best!!
Wanting to be the best is a different mindset than feeling like you have to win a game. By nature, becoming the best is a process, a daily approach, to create a lasting effect. Feeling like you have to win a game is immediate & connects self-worth to the result, creating anxiety.
I love seeing this moment. This is strength. This is courage. We can compete. We can be leaders. AND we can still talk about our own mental health needs! Thank you @haydenrhurst and @dak for allowing us to see true support for one another.
Thought I’d ask Aaron Rodgers today about mental health, specifically what he thinks the value of people like him and Dak Prescott talking about their headspace, happiness and mental well-being has in destigmatizing talking about that stuff.
His full answer:
We must move past the dialogue that mental health is a private matter. As humans emotions/thoughts happen to us. True leaders are willing to be vulnerable. @dak proved to be a leader beyond the football field increasing the willingness of his team, & others, to follow him!
@TiffanyWeimer Love this! Focusing on our own lock of control allows for greater resilience and mental toughness. Blaming just puts us in a negative feedback loop.

I send two texts out after every practice before I drive home. One to someone who really shined. One to someone who needs encouragement. Small habits show love to your team and grow relationships.
@alicia_pelton So true! Thank you for sharing! I have the privilege of working with individuals, teams and colleges to support the mental health of athletes. I would love to see the NCAA take more of a proactive approach to increase programs and support!
